It looks like Amir Hamzah Azizan is an idiot for saying that SST forces businesses to decide whether to absorb the tax or pass it on to consumers. Why the hell businesses must be forced to make that decision when they are supposed to be a collecting agent for indirect tax?

You not only give no reward to the agent you appointed to collect the tax for you but you go on to penalise him by making him absorb the indirect tax himself. That's a huge injustice to many Malaysian businesses, who are not in a position to pass on the additional SST cost.

I don't blame Anwar Ibrahim over this fiasco as he is an illiterate when comes to financial matters as he has no educational qualification related to finance and economy. It is the people with educated background surrounding him fail to correct him.

If Madanon really care about the welfare of the lower-earning Rakyat, the decent thing to do is not have regressive consumption tax at all and bring capital gains tax and wealth tax. Madanon won't do it. They are addicted to SST like opium and don't care about businesses dying.

Or if they cannot do away with consumption tax, bring back GST and zero rate as many basic items consumed by ordinary rakyat as possible. Madanon do none of this and are sucking up Malaysian businesses through an unfair, uneven and misfit SST!
