At last count the NZ commentators are leading with 8 mentions of the size of Hagley Oval to 5 mentions by Ravi Shastri the Bumrah is not here.

Drove from Dunedin airport to Gore yesterday and saw over 100 election signs as I travelled down SH1 and they consisted of - TPM - 0, Greens - 0, Labour - 1, Nats truckloads, NZF truckloads, Act truckloads. Has the left forsaken rural Otago and Southland?

Used to be a fan of Aaron Cruden as a player. Not such a fan of him as a commentator. Even less a fan of the continual overuse of commentator nicknames - sick of hearing “Jipper” and “Cruds”.

Nature is a perplexing thing, sometimes I just look at things that are just so pointless, perplexing and simply not understandable and I have to just ask myself, “Why?”……..like Willie Jackson for example.

It would be quite interesting to see a Rugby test between the England Men’s and Women’s team. I reckon if they play better than usual, well above their usual standard, the Men’s team could maybe get within 10-15 points of the Women’s team. Ok, I’m joking, they won’t get within 20

Out for brunch with my family at a lovely place today. It was full of families enjoying time with Dad…and full of Dad’s paying for them.

And, simply put, the test is lost due to Leroy Carter’s two missed tackles and Rueben Love’s multiple missed goal kicks.

Andrew Saville telling a Cape Town hotel story to @pineynz and @Mikehosking on Newstalk ZB this morning - radio gold!

Slightly surprised to hear Ryan Bridge having to have the concept and operation of the Ranfurly Shield explained to him this morning. It’s one of NZ’s oldest and most iconic sporting trophies.

I think the most likely series outcome is 2-2. I would venture to suggest that Rassie’s selection shenanigans are more borne out of worry than confidence though.

Hmmm. All Blacks will get better from that. All hope is not lost. So much for much vaunted Bok scrum dominance. Did Nche play at all? Game won on the back of rush defence and our errors. Also interesting that the Boks failed to score a 2nd half try again.

I don’t think we need to panic about the scrum. My feeling is most of their 1st half dominance was due to EDG’s knee injury. Some scrums go your way, some don’t.

Another long, hard season ahead for Spurs fans…

Fair enough there is lots of kudos going to the AB front row replacements but I can’t help but wonder if a lot of the early Bok scrum dominance was due to EDG’s knee injury at the start of the game destabilising our front row.

One of the great All Black wins.

Aucklanders are struggling with the vicious cold snap at the moment. Some parts of Tamaki Makaurau even got down to as low as 4degC overnight…aww, bless. People in the South Island send their thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Ryan Bridge Today and TV3, not missing Tova at all.

After the NNZ debacle in 2025, and IF…the Silver Ferns win gold, can the Halberg Coach award go to anyone other than Dame Noeline Taurua?
