Look, I know families are worried about rising unemployment, I get it. That’s why today, we’re going to make it even more expensive for employers to hire you.

When John Healey stands up today and tells us he will be taxing the banks just remember. It won't be the banks that pay. It will be you.

The two child benefit cap should be brought back. It should never have been scrapped by Labour in the last budget.

This is the posturing that annoys people! Today is budget day and the decisions will have already been made!
“The Price of a Night Out Has Reached Its Limit”: NTIA Issues Budget Warning as Consumer Spending Rises 34% The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has warned the Chancellor that consumers have reached an affordability ceiling, as new CGA by NIQ research reveals spending on nights out has risen 34% since 2020.** Average spending per head in pubs, bars and restaurants has increased from £20.95 in 2020 to £28.06 in 2026. However, growth has slowed sharply to just 2.1% over the past year, while London spending has effectively plateaued. The NTIA warns that rising expenditure does not signal greater prosperity but reflects escalating operating costs, including employment, energy, taxation and business rates, increasingly passed on to consumers. Michael Kill, CEO of NTIA, said: “This Budget comes at a defining moment for British nightlife. Businesses cannot afford to absorb further costs, while customers cannot afford to keep paying more. “The consumer cannot be the industry's financial shock absorber indefinitely. “Consumers have reached their ceiling. Operators have reached theirs. The Chancellor must recognise that the sector has nowhere left to pass the pressure.” The NTIA is urging meaningful action on business rates, employment costs and taxation to prevent further venue closures and protect the accessibility of nightlife. Without intervention, the association warns that rising costs threaten businesses, jobs, cultural spaces and the vitality of towns and cities nationwide. **The message is clear: nightlife cannot remain sustainable if consumers and operators are pushed beyond their financial limits.**

Let me simplify Labour's Budget. 💷 Work harder. Pay more tax. 🍺 Pubs struggling? Another 2p on a pint. ⚡ Energy bills? Keep paying. 🏪 Businesses closing? Tough. ⛽ Fuel duty frozen. Apparently a victory. But don't panic! You've got £21 off your annual 🥒gherkin bill.

Oh jesus lord help us. Help the blind that cannot see the damage they will cause. Help the deaf that cannot the hear screams of despair and the warnings. Help the less intelligent understand that the next 3 years is going to descend into absolute carnage beyond anything they've ever experienced. Reeves laid the groundwork for economic collapse, Healey will destroy the ability for economic recovery. This isn't doommongering, this is socialism in play. I HATE THE TORIES for allowing this to happen. They normally fuck up after leaving the economy with a buffer to absorb labour lunacy. Letting them in with a landslide and Carte Blanche for chaos is unforgivable.
A Labour Budget based on Labour values and principles.

So the new minimum wage is going to be over £27k per year, yet the higher rate of income tax is £50k per year. 🤔 Then you have the benefits bill being more than the income tax revenue of the entire country. 😮 Something is clearly very wrong under Labour and Andy Burnham.

A few pennies off some food items, saving 40p a week. Yeah we heard. At the same time, Labour have increased taxes to an all time high, whilst borrowing, mortgages, energy bills, and inflation goes up. Labour ARE the cost of living crisis.

Remember when Healey and Burnham made a big deal about going to the pub and having a pint together just weeks ago? We all thought they were trying to be men of the people. Turns out they were actually just sizing up your pint for more taxes.

Chancellor John Healey is set to hike alcohol duty and slap 2p on every pint in the Budget. 🍺 The government takes over 10 times more than the pub owner. The cost of living crisis is a cost of government taxation of small businesses crisis.

I expected to feel positive about the Budget tomorrow, but now I'm dreading it. I am worried - the mood music is off. @andyburnham said hospitality should have a VAT rate similar to Europe & said the calvary was coming. Tomorrow, we get to see if he was telling the truth.

VICTORY??? Labour freezing fuel duty isn't a victory. It's simply deciding not to hammer motorists even harder Struggling drivers need actual relief, not insulting headlines
