A View From LE2 / Elliott Butlin

Hi there! This is a blog dedicated to Leicester Tigers & Leicester City. I hope you like it, please comment and interact! Here’s hoping to be back inside a ground sometime soon! #lcfc #TigersFamily #LeicesterTigers

And just like that, I’m 6 again falling in love with Italian football all over again. The music, the kits, James Richardson. Perfection.

Also think last two weeks have sent statements to the rest of the league & put a really strong marker down. We’re top of the league without getting anywhere near top gear. Dog, heart & resilience have got us to this point. Just wait until the quality kicks in!!

Last two weeks against strong attacking teams - Saints and Bristol - have been a huge test for our defence. And I do think it’s passed. Only two tries conceded, one of which was our error. The physicality is good, our timing on the blitz is good & we’re smothering opposition.

Nice point made by Geoff after the game about ANOTHER 6 day turnaround. We’ve been absolutely stitched up this block by the fixtures & the injury crisis yet we’ve come through it so well. Credit to Geoff & the boys - not many clubs could’ve dealt with that as well as we have.

PHEWWWW!! All this talk of letters & it’s us who came away with a W! So proud of us tonight. Turned 35 today - what a birthday present!! Loads of dog & resilience AGAIN! Defence is really starting to click now. Plus loads to improve on. Top of the league!! GET IN!!!

Good to see Twycross Zoo promoting the big game tonight!

Special player, special captain. A quality bit of work to get him signed up on a new deal. Been really impressed with our retention work so far, but this was the big one. Quality 💪💪💪

This is disingenuous. I have been reliably informed that Tigers were invited to wear letters, but ONLY on the condition they matched Bristol - so back 3 wearing ABC. Given our heritage of the front row wearing ABC, we understandably declined. Don’t get angry on a non-story.

Remember when endless muppets on here hammered Chessum for not running towards the posts in the last 6 Nations? This is why. Secure the try first and foremost & don’t make yourself look an idiot like Malins here.

Saints are unstoppable apparently 😂

Finn Carnduff emptying his pockets tonight 😂😂😂 £400k for young Henry? Hope they’ve kept the receipts!

WHEYYYYYYYYY Resilience, grit, determination & plenty of heart from our boys to get that win. Amazing display of excellent forwards play, with a defence that looks like it’s getting better & better. Saints were gutless quite frankly. Bit of rain & they bottled it.

The fact we’re still in this game beggars belief. Though I’m very glad we are. Tidy it up boys, come on!!!!

Big day on the pitch, big day off the pitch for us fans too. If your hands aren’t hurting & your voice isn’t shot by final whistle, you’ve not done your job. Get yourself down to the plaza for 1.45 - shout the boys home 🙌 #RightSideofFeral

BOOM!!! An integral part of the team, culture and this group. Very, very pleased he’s staying on!

Initial thoughts that that’s a team built for the impending rain expected tomorrow. Lots of grunt, effort & aggression to deal with the challenges Saints pose. Wouldn’t maybe gone Moro at 7 for breakdown threat. Just win lads, don’t care how. Just win.
