I want to take a second to recognize my appellate attorney, Matthew Larosiere. @FuddBusters After getting crushed at trial—with attorneys who were NOT Matt—and being sentenced to 20 years in federal prison, I was basically helpless. Locked in a cell, with no resources and no idea how I was ever going to get out. My family called hundreds of firms. Most couldn’t even tell us what an NFA weapon was, yet wanted $50,000–$100,000 just to “get involved.” Then Matt stepped the hell up. He never demanded a penny. He put my freedom ahead of everything and fought his ass off in a system where the odds were stacked against me. Others joined the fight later, and I’m grateful for every single person who did. But I think it’s important that people know Matt was there from the beginning. Matt, you fought for my freedom when I had nothing left to fight with. Thank you. I’ll never forget it.

After four and a half years and the biggest fight of my life, I am home. I could not have done it without each and every person who stood beside me, spoke my name when I couldn’t speak for myself, shared my story, challenged what was wrong, and simply refused to give up on me. Thank you. I am grateful. To my friends and family. To the thousands of people in our 2A community. To every Second Amendment organization that fought for me, supported me, and refused to let my case be forgotten. To all the journalists who told my story, including @HT_GunWriter. To my legal team, @fuddbusters and @WelchWrightLaw, who stepped up when the full might of the federal government was crushing me. To the six members of Congress who stood with me when it mattered most: @RepEliCrane , @RepEricBurlison, @RepJenKiggans , @RepBresnahan , @RepWebster, and @RepGosar. To the leaders in the administration who helped make this possible. And, last but certainly not least, to President Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump for intervening and giving me my life back. There are so many more people I need to thank personally—people who helped, encouraged, prayed, fought, called, wrote, shared, donated, opened doors, or simply refused to let me disappear. I could never name everyone in one post, because there are too many. But please know this: I remember you, and I will never forget what you did for me. I am humbled. I am grateful. And I am home with my family. What happened to me should frighten every law-abiding gun owner, because it can happen to anyone. And there are others. The work has just begun.
