ISRAEL ELECTION—TURNOUT UPDATE As of 8 pm Israel time, the total turnout for the entire country is 74.3% with two hours to go before the polls close. At 10 pm Israel the first exit polls will be released showing the preliminary allocation of mandates among the parties after the record-breaking turnout today particularly in the Arab communities. The whole country is on pins and needles.

Clarification: Today’s 67% turnout as of 6 pm is the highest in 50 years as of 6 pm

ISRAEL ELECTIONS—ASSYMETRIC TURNOUT—LEFT AND ARAB VOTERS OVERWHELM POLLING PLACES WHILE CENTER-RIGHT VOTERS CONTINUE TO REMAIN AT HOME AS OF 6 pm ~67% of the eligible population has voted, the highest in 50 years. Right-wing voters are beginning to turn out. Also don’t forget there are ~600,000 soldier votes which won’t be counted until Thursday.

ISRAEL ELECTIONS—TURNOUT AS OF 4 pm 55.7% turnout as of 4 pm. But much of this is due to left-wing and Arab turnout. In right-wing towns and villages the turnout is significantly lower: Tiberias, Ashkelon, Kiryat Shemona, Jerusalem, etc etc. are not voting. Channel 14 and conservative outlets are frantically calling for center-right voters to wake up and vote. Our voters are comfortable and complacent. They think that they have the luxury of staying home. They don’t. This could be an electoral catastrophe, if our people don’t vote.

ISRAEL ELECTIONS UPDATE—HIGHEST TURNOUT IN ARAB SECTOR Against the backdrop of the high voter-turnout rates reported in the Arab sector, PM Netanyahu and Finance Minister Smotrich spoke and coordinated a joint effort to mobilize right-wing voters to the polls. There is a growing concern in center-right circles about the impact on the distribution of mandates and on the chances of the smaller parties to cross the electoral threshold. The move includes reinforcing activists, calls to voters, and increasing activity in the periphery and in Judea and Samaria. Me: Not good.

ISRAEL ELECTIONS—TURNOUT AT 2 pm As of 2 pm today the turnout is 44.9% compared to 38.9% in 2022. That’s a 6% increase. Heaviest turnout since 1973. A short while ago, Channel 14’s pollster, Shlomo Filber, said that the heavy turnout will dramatically affect his prediction published just before the official ban on election polling took effect before last Shabbat. He had predicted 62 mandates for the center-right coalition led by PM Netanyahu. He didn’t how the turnout will impact the outcome. Speaking for myself: I’m concerned.

ISRAEL ELECTIONS—TURNOUT AT 12 PM VERY HEAVY The turnout in 2022 at 22 pm (25th Knesset election, November 1): 28.4% (about 1.925 million voters out of roughly 6.79 million eligible). Today the turnout at 12 pm (26th Knesset election, today October 27) is 31.5% (about 2.31 million voters out of 7.33 million eligible). Difference: Turnout at noon is 3.1 percentage points higher in 2026 than in 2022. This is the highest midday turnout since at least 1973–1977 (sources vary slightly on the exact prior peak). The increase is consistent across Central Elections Committee data and reports from Ynet, Israel National News, TheMarker, and others. The larger absolute number of voters in 2026 also reflects a bigger eligible electorate.
