The North Grandstand is the largest of the five main permanent grandstands at Yas Marina Circuit, and one of the best. All of the permanent grandstands here are some of the best on the calendar, with good elevation (even for the lowest seats), high quality seats and cover from the sun. The North Grandstand wraps around Turn 5, which is one of the best overtaking spots at Yas Marina Circuit and where Max Verstappen passed Lewis Hamilton en route to winning the 2021 #AbuDhabiGP and the drivers’ championship. North Grandstand is also very close to Etihad Park, where the nightly concerts take place on race weekend. Read our new, in-depth review of the grandstand, and see the views from each section 👇️ gpdestinations.com/abu-dhabi… #F1

Formula 1 has announced a weekend attendance figure of 467,000 at the 2026 #USGP. It is the largest figure in Circuit of The Americas history, having first joined the calendar in 2012. This was the first time in its history that COTA welcomed fans for on-track action across four days. This was the first time since 2023 that an attendance figure was officially announced for the United States Grand Prix weekend. That year, attendance was at 432,000 – 8,000 down on its record figure from 2022. The 2024 attendance figure was estimated to be around 430,000, while no figure was revealed in 2025. The 2026 United States Grand Prix currently ranks as the third-best-attended race weekend of the year, behind the British Grand Prix (564,000) and the Australian Grand Prix (484,000) – both of which were also 4-day events. According to our calculations, total Formula 1 weekend attendance in 2026 has now surpassed 6 million. Attendance figures have been revealed – either by Formula 1, race promoters or local media – for all but two races this year. Using estimates for those two races (Miami and Monaco), along with the already-announced figures, total attendance for this season stands at just over 6 million. 50 years ago today, James Hunt sealed his only World Championship in Japan: "The 1976 Formula 1 World Championship had seen it all. A horror accident for Niki Lauda in Germany, a late season charge by James Hunt. It all came down to the last race of the season. One for the history books. Lauda, who had been read the last rites after his fiery crash at the Nürburgring, missed only two races but was not back to his best yet. He was a magnificent fourth on return at Monza, but failed to score in Canada and could do no better than third at Watkins Glen. In comparison, Hunt looked unstoppable. With three wins out of the last four races, he was only three points behind the Austrian coming to the final round in Japan..." A post-pandemic boom for Formula 1 in the USA saw ticket prices increase substantially at COTA. Ticket prices at COTA this year are the fourth most expensive of the season, according to our 2026 Formula 1 Ticket Price Ranking. Whilst accommodation prices do get inflated in Austin on #USGP weekend, it’s still a relatively affordable city by US standards and a night out in the city doesn’t have to break the bank. Depending on where you stay, you’ll also need to factor in the cost of getting to and from the circuit each day. Learn more in our US GP Budget Planner 👇️ gpdestinations.com/budget-pl… #F1

By the mid-1970s, the United States Grand Prix had found its annual home at Watkins Glen in upstate New York. Then a new venue joined the fray. The inaugural USA West Grand Prix was held in Long Beach, California from 1976. The new race was immediately a hit. The Californian weather in March was perfect when compared to the melting heat at the South American races in January. It may have been a street circuit, but this was America and Long Beach was much wider than Monte Carlo. The surroundings weren’t bad either, thanks to the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. The race was also popular with everyone from the Hollywood elite, including Paul Newman, to Miss California. Read and see more from F1's Long Beach era, with words from Károly Méhes and images from Larry Roberts 👇️ gpdestinations.com/when-f1-r… #F1

COTA is opening its doors on Thursday at the 2026 #USGP for the first time. Known as Grand Prixview Thursday, tickets are free for fans who have already bought their 3-day tickets via the circuit (but must be claimed), and start from $20 for fans without 3-day tickets. On track, there will be action from F1 Academy. Fans can also take part in a pit lane walk and check out the fan zone. Also, the new COTALAND theme park next to the circuit finally opened to the public in September 2026. The thirty-acre site boasts 34 rides. It's possible to purchase Thursday access with an unlimited wristband for COTALAND for $88 USD. If you are planning to attend this year and want to also experience COTALAND, Thursday would be the best day to do this! Learn more about visiting the track 👇️ gpdestinations.com/trackside… #F1

The inaugural race at the Madring wasn’t without first-year organizational issues, notably a lack of shade and free water refill stations, and difficulties with the Mad-Coins trackside currency. The fact that you couldn’t freely walk around different trackside zones was another common complaint, as well as the rather disappointing racing action. On the positive side, public transport was very well organised and largely hassle-free, the overall cost of the weekend was not too expensive, and Madrid was a fantastic host city with plenty to see and do away from the track. The promoter of the #JapaneseGP has announced that tickets for 2027 will go on sale from November 15. The F1 Sprint format is coming to Japan for the first time next year. As we have seen at other races where the sprint was introduced, ticket prices have jumped. You’ll pay on average around 20% more in local currency for tickets to the 2027 Japanese Grand Prix, and the popular “Free Friday” offer, which let you sit in any grandstand on the first day of action, has been discontinued. Nevertheless, Japan continues to offer some of the cheapest F1 tickets on the current calendar, and the fan experience at Suzuka remains excellent. The organization is fantastic, the Japanese fans are passionate, and the spectator views at Suzuka are some of the best on the calendar. The Japanese Grand Prix is a popular event and the best value grandstands do sell out well in advance, so it pays to plan ahead for your trip to Suzuka. Who's got their eye on a trip to Suzuka next year? 👀 #F1
