Even when you expect to lose, you still need to show up. And maybe, if enough of us who expect to lose show up, then we won’t!
I was #538 at my precinct with 75 minutes to go.

The best thing about #TheDiplomat Season 4 is that the show finally realized Kate and Hal can face conflict that isn't about whether or not they're going to stay together. So I wrote about their messy, amazing marriage for @theshippinglane: shipping-lane.com/the-diplom…

Pope Leo XIV may lead the Catholic Church, but even he has a favorite college basketball team.
The first American pope welcomed men's and women's basketball teams from Villanova, his alma mater, and Notre Dame to the Vatican on Saturday ahead of their season-opening matchups in Rome.
"The Pope doesn't take sides. Prevost has another opinion," Leo joked, referring to himself by his birth name, Robert Prevost. A 1977 Villanova graduate and Chicago native, Leo acknowledged his hometown's support for Notre Dame but couldn't resist showing a little school pride.

For @DenofGeekUS, my small contribution to our collective mourning for Patrick Stewart, a legend both onscreen and off who made us believe that intelligence and empathy really could save the world. denofgeek.com/tv/patrick-ste…

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

The best thing about the AI revolution has to be the way this stupid call center "assistant" is making fake typing sounds as it tells me it can't actually help me sort out why my insurance claims haven't been paid and that I need to talk to a real person. Super helpful!!

Don't get me wrong, I love where Roy and Keeley ended up on #TedLasso, but their relationship deserved so much better than the story of how they got there. So I wrote about it at @theshippinglane: shipping-lane.com/roy-and-ke…

Meet the newest member of the Corps 🐾
Introducing Growley IV, call sign Bedford. Named in honor of the Bedford Boys, Bedford's name carries forward a legacy of courage, service, and unwavering loyalty.
ALT Alt: An adorable lab puppy looks up while sitting at the feet of a line of first year cadets in uniform. Additional info: Bedford will spend the next year completing his initial training and will join cadets on Upper Quad next fall. He will officially report for duty in the fall of 2028 after a year of shadowing Growley III, call sign Stryker. Once Bedford assumes Growley duties in Fall 2028, Stryker will begin his well-deserved retirement and will be cared for by a former cadet handler. Legend says the original Growley was a beloved Depression-era dog cared for by cadets sharing breakfast scraps. He returned to Virginia Tech in 2016 when Echo Company introduced a new furry friend to boost Corps morale and serve as an ambassador for the Corps.
