The absurdity of the NCAA’s eligibility debacle is that there are schools like UNC that have Class of 2022 student-athletes who are both eligible and ineligible.
UNC PK Rece Verhoff is eligible and will play on Saturday. UNC C Cameron Fens is ineligible and won’t play on Sunday.

UNC ranks No. 1 nationally in ODA, which measures the relative strength of defenses faced. Up next is another stout defense vs. Duke.

UNC center Cameron Fens remains ineligible.
Tennessee Supreme Court has denied plaintiffs’ motion to review and lift the stay.
“Upon due consideration of all the relevant factors, the Court concludes that, at this stage of the proceedings, Plaintiffs have not shown a likelihood of success on their claim that the NCAA breached the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing.”

Now we’re getting somewhere. This should be fun.

Todd Golden on eligibility chaos is worth your time ⬇️
"The NCAA has spent millions of dollars promoting the PCSA. But if that were to pass, the class of '22 athletes would be eligible."
"At this point, the NCAA is arguing that they're trying to prevent chaos, but they're really causing it."

The order by Governor DeWine isn’t legislating eligibility.
It simply instructs Ohio schools to decline to apply an extratextual eligibility restriction on Class of 2022 athletes.
It is also demonstrative of the reality pointed out by Tennessee’s head coach Rick Barnes earlier today:
This isn’t about athlete or lawyer greed.
The NCAA’s mishandling of the five year rule rollout has caused the chaos the NCAA has so frequently argued (without a single real life example of a displaced athlete) would be caused by permitting 2022 athletes to play in the first place.
From applying the rule retroactively only in part to drafting a rule that textually doesn’t contain the 2022 Carve Out to spending millions lobbying Congress for a law that likely provides 2022 athletes the same relief the NCAA is simultaneously spending millions of dollars in Big Law fees to fight in court— it is unequivocally the NCAA, not athletes, who created and is perpetuating the chaos.
As a result of this conduct, the college basketball season, which is the NCAA’s cash cow, is now in a state of turmoil less than 3 weeks before the opening tip.
Again, the lack of awareness that some of these coaches possess with regard to their supporters is mind-numbing.
