Hong Kong's 24-hour stores have a humanoid behind the counter Any hour of the day. You tap a screen, place an order, and it turns, reaches the shelf and hands you a drink. That's the Galbot G1, aka Xiao Gai, a wheeled robot that has been working three stores in Hung Hom, Wan Chai and Kai Tak for over a month. It chats in Mandarin, Cantonese and English. It stands up to 1.73 m tall, with two 7-DoF arms on a height-adjustable body, a reach from floor to 2.1 m, 5 kg per arm, and a four-wheel omnidirectional base. It runs on AstraBrain, Galbot's in-house embodied AI. Galbot says it already operates about 200 stores across nearly 50 mainland cities. Hong Kong is its first stop outside.

A humanoid robot is now working the night shift at a pharmacy... LBX Pharmacy has deployed Galbot’s wheeled humanoid G1 at a store in Shanghai’s Xuhui District. The robot can autonomously take orders, navigate smart shelves, pick medicines, load them into an automated packing system, and place finished orders into a smart pickup locker. Order->picking ->packing->dispatch is now almost fully automated. The last 3 km of delivery still rely on human couriers, who use the customer’s phone number to collect orders from the locker. LBX says G1 can handle 400–500 orders a day, with just 68 seconds of processing time per order. The average end-to-end dispatch time is under 90 seconds, with a reported picking accuracy of 100%. With G1 handling overnight operations, the pharmacy can reduce the labor pressure of running a 24/7 store, while keeping essential medicines available around the clock for local residents. G1 is powered by Galbot’s AstraBrain physical AI model and can reliably recognize and precisely pick from more than 10,000 products, including prescription and OTC drugs, medical devices, and prepackaged food. The more categories humanoid robots can handle, the more everyday needs they can serve. And the more real-world tasks they take on, the smarter they can become.
