After our @LeverNews series MASTER PLAN about the Powell Memo went super viral, @JamesTalarico did a speech echoing much of our reporting. That was when I sensed that maybe, just maybe, America was finally going to have an anti-corruption election. xitter.gq/TeamTalaricoHQ/status/…
.@JamesTalarico: 50 years ago, a corporate lawyer named Lewis Powell circulated a memo around DC — a blueprint for how corporations could amass political power, reverse the gains of the Great Society and the New Deal, and rig the system for themselves. The Powell memo outlined a strategy. Unite corporate special interests, privilege corporate perspectives in the media, appoint sympathetic judges to the court, and buy politicians in both political parties. And it worked. Republicans and some Democrats sold the false gospel of trickle-down economics. Trickle-down economics is not a theory, it is theft. Since the late 1970s, mega donors and corporate special interests have been buying politicians in both political parties. And then those politicians turned around and rigged the economy to benefit their wealthy donors at our expense. We have an affordability crisis because we have a corruption crisis.

Watch this clip from Talarico - and then let me tell you a story. In 2024, @levernews took a big risk: We launched a reporting project aiming to unearth the never-before-reported details of the secret 50-year plot to legalize corruption in America. It was the kind of huge investment in deep reporting that most news outlets don’t make. But we made it, because I've spent almost my entire adult life focused on money-in-politics reporting - and this was the biggest money-in-politics story in American history. Two years later, our podcast and book MASTER PLAN did not merely win the National Press Club Award — what we unearthed and exposed is now a central theme in the 2026 election. As you can see, Talarico is recounting — and promising to fight — the master plan that we exposed. And he’s making that promise in one of America’s most high-profile Senate races. Find the podcast and book at MasterPlanPodcast [dot] com - and pass it on.

Google announcing that schools banning AI will also lose access to Google Search is a pretty good opportunity to teach the next generation that Google isn’t the internet and that there are plenty of alternatives to its platforms. Maybe it’s time schools started exploring them.

While people on the ground did the legwork, Hasan Piker took the heat publicly. Mainstream media talked about him relentlessly, and Republicans made him the boogeyman to distract from the fact that they don’t have answers to real issues. Democrats should recognize it’s much more beneficial to make him a friend instead of a foe.
Genuinely Hasan Piker deserves his flowers now for revitalizing the youth vote for the democrats and shifting the conversation back to the popular/populist policies. If the centrists say it's a big tent, then they should act like it's a fucking big tent

Shawn Michaels was the best at making a big match feel important. He made every opponent look great, and every WrestleMania moment felt like history. Many wrestlers can win a match. I think only a few can make you remember it for years.

The progressive movement spent a decade building toward this moment. The organizing. The candidates. The argument against corporate control of our lives. We are the center of gravity in this party. Now we intend to drive the agenda.

Talarico and Hinojosa were laser-focused on anti-oligarch, anti-corruption populism, and they won America’s biggest red state after Corporate Dems had lost the state to Republicans for generations. Nobody should ever again listen to Corporate Dems’ “electability” arguments.
