A wolf has a stomach at pH 1, a short simple gut and no fermentation chamber anywhere in it. It eats meat.
A lion has an intestine about 4 times its body length, where a grazer runs 20, and sleeps 20 hours a day between kills. It eats meat.
A cat cannot make its own taurine and cannot turn carotene into vitamin A. Denied animal tissue it goes blind and its heart gives out. It eats meat.
A crocodile has the strongest stomach acid ever measured in a vertebrate, strong enough to take bone and horn apart. It eats meat.
A ferret moves food from mouth to exit in about 3 hours. There is no time in that gut to ferment anything. It eats meat.
An eagle has forward-facing eyes, a hooked beak, talons, and coughs up the parts it cannot dissolve. It eats meat.
A polar bear stores so much vitamin A in its liver that one meal of it would poison a man. It eats meat.
Not one of them was ever told. The body was the instruction.
The human has stomach acid at pH 1.5, as strong as animals that eat things they find already dead.
A small intestine running two thirds of the gut and a colon under a quarter, the carnivore's proportion, upside down from every leaf-eater alive.
No cellulase. No rumen. A caecum so useless we take it out when it complains.
B12 in no plant on earth. Haem iron absorbed at 25 to 35%, against 2 to 10 for the plant kind.
Forward-facing eyes. A shoulder built to throw. Skin that sweats, so we can run something faster than us into the ground by mid-afternoon.
Our tapeworms split from the ones in lions and hyenas 1.7 million years ago, because we were standing at the same carcass.
Stone tools were stripping meat off bone 2.6 million years back.
Same acid. Same gut. Same eyes.
The only animal on earth that can read its own biology is the only one arguing with it.
Intelligent people have no friends. Or maybe just one or two. The thing is... they observe too much. They notice the little things most people miss. The change in your tone. The energy behind a compliment. The difference between what you say and what you "actually" do. The intentions behind carefully chosen words. They observe patterns. Read behaviours like a book. They can sense whether you're pretending, or being genuinely happy for them. They don't say it. But trust me, they know.

Roman slaves ate bread, olives and porridge, washed down with vinegar.
Roman senators ate boar, dormice and peacock.
Egyptian labourers raised the pyramids on bread, onions and beer.
The pharaoh ate beef.
Spartan helots ate barley and figs.
The Spartans who owned them ate a black broth of pork and blood.
Chinese peasants ate millet and rice.
Genghis Khan's horsemen rode over them on mutton and mare's milk.
Indian lower castes ate rice, lentils and flatbread.
The Mughal emperors ate lamb off gold plates.
Japanese peasants ate rice and pickles.
The samurai ate fish and game.
Medieval serfs ate pottage and black bread.
The lord ate venison, and blinded a serf for touching a deer.
Tudor commoners ate bread cut with chalk.
Henry VIII's court went through thousands of cattle a year.
Irish cottiers ate potatoes, and in 1847 they ate grass.
Their landlords ate beef, and shipped the rest to England past the dying.
Plantation slaves ate cornmeal and a weekly scrap of fatback.
The planter ate ham, oysters and cream.
Victorian mill hands ate bread, tea and jam.
The Victorian aristocracy ate beef, game and butter.
Soviet collective farmers ate black bread and cabbage soup.
Stalin served his inner circle roast meat and caviar until four in the morning.
Every civilisation. Every century. Every continent.
The poor got the plants.
The powerful took the animals.
Nobody in five thousand years ran a trial on it. They watched which men grew tall and which men obeyed, and kept the meat for themselves.
Then in 1977 a wheat-state senator, a Harvard professor on sugar money and a reporter with no training told the world the slave's plate had been the healthy one all along.
No pharaoh ever fed the pottage to his own son.
They fed it to yours.

Wil Wheaton should be condemned for attacking Stephen Miller on Friday over a simple tribute to Patrick Stewart. Showing basic humanity when someone dies should be accepted by everyone, even people you disagree with. Wheaton’s response to Miller mourning Stewart was shameful.
For those who don’t know him, Wheaton played Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation. He was young at the time and did a solid job in the role. That doesn’t give him license to police condolences.
His comments against Miller show how political derangement has turned some leftists into unpleasant people. Or maybe they were already unpleasant and that’s why they went that direction. Either way, Miller set a better example by offering graceful, classy remarks about Stewart. Plenty of people who didn’t share Stewart’s politics still offered basic respect when he passed. I did the same.
Wheaton needs to learn that life is bigger than whatever ideology he currently favors. People change their thinking as they get older. He should try it.
America ultimately needs more unity if it’s going to hold together. That requires people like Wheaton to accept they don’t have everything figured out and are wrong about a lot of things. One of my own biggest realizations was recognizing that much of the mainstream media functions as Democratic messaging. Once that veil lifted, a lot of other things became clearer, including the record of figures like Obama.
Wheaton still appears to take his cues from that same media environment. That’s why a routine tribute set him off. Star Trek was always supposed to be about exploring new ideas. If he actually respects Stewart and the show’s premise, he’ll eventually have to confront his own blind spots. Right now it looks like he’s more comfortable staying angry than facing anything that challenges his narrative.

This is exactly why consensus is actually dangerous. Can we call this phenomenon social media stupid bystander syndrome?

Cannabis users' brains look YOUNGER!
People who used cannabis showed better scores on various thinking tests (multiple areas of cognition / mental performance).
The brain changes linked to cannabis and the better thinking abilities appeared together across many different brain systems.
Cannabis users' brains showed connection patterns more like those seen in younger people, plus stronger cognitive (thinking) skills.

Friend @Martyupnorth says that the government's Earthquakes Canada website recorded a 3.7m event in Wainwright as our warriors were dying.
Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and other officials only talk of a fast moving fire - not an explosion.
At this point I'm not sure what the truth is, but the fact is this - I no longer trust or believe the highest institutions and offices in the land.
I require independent verification and credible corroboration for anything that comes from public officials whether appointed or elected.
This is where we are now in Canada.
If there was a major explosion at Wainwright last night, we'll see it on the Earthquakes Canada website.

'Speed' derives from the Old English 'spēd,' which referred to good fortune/success.
This sense of 'speed' lives on in 'Godspeed':
"God spede you" = "God prosper you"
We hope this brings you up to speed.

We have reached the extraordinary point where humanity has placed virtually the entirety of recorded knowledge at everyone's fingertips, only to discover that some people would rather use those fingertips to argue with the dictionary..
The internet didn't create stupidity.. It just gave stupidity a microphone, an audience, and the confidence to demand a debate and be taken seriously..
We're doomed.. 🤦🏽♂️

Literally every aspect of our culture is rooted in the Bible. Which is why we need to teach it in schools, even if only from a secular perspective.
If people don't learn about the Bible, they will never truly understand their own culture.
