It’s been a very Burry Port and Pembrey couple of days (second to follow). It was an honour to be invited to attend the weekly Pembrey, Burry Port and District Combined Services Association meet for veterans and spouses in the lovely Burry Port Memorial Hall.
Topics of conversation darted around the sporadic bus services many of them have to endure, the lack of parking at hospitals, and the general lack of ‘joined-up thinking’, especially when important facilities are located out of town centres.
National issues included, to the disgust of everyone, the cruel persecution of our soldiers who diligently served and are now facing vexatious and stressful charges just for doing their job, an absolute disgrace!
Speaking to a couple of gents who between them have had 5 knee replacements, ouch!, they weren't moaning; they were thankful for the small mercies in life.
Even though there are plenty of challenges in this day and age, spirits were high and they have a lot to be proud of, having stood up for our late Queen and Country.
The weekly get-together is about camaraderie, chatting, and having a laugh, 'the 3 Bs’, one of which is ‘banter’. There’s nothing better than person-to-person chats, all over a cup of tea or coffee, or, as discussed, the occasional Guinness Zero!
A big shout-out to Burry Port and Pembrey Town Council for really showing leadership and flying all our flags proudly. It’s a very positive thing, appreciated by everyone.
A massive well done to all involved, too many to mention. Thank you for the invite and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.
Very much looking forward to attending the Remembrance Service very soon.
Diolch yn fawr iawn.

This is indoctrination 👇
I grew up under communism. I know what happens when political ideology enters the classroom and children are taught who the approved people are, and who the enemy is.
Britain is not communist. But the hard Left’s capture of too much of our education system should alarm every parent.
We have one last chance to root ideological activism out of our schools and rescue education from those who think children are theirs to politicise.
Thank you @_GeorgeFinch for exposing this and, crucially, taking action.
It is not too late. But it is getting late.
The second outing in Pembrey and Burry Port (actually the first)
Last Friday it was a pleasure to watch the fantastic Lighthouse Stage School perform their incredible and unique version of the comedic and timeless Addams Family.
After months of planning and weekly practice, they well and truly pulled it off.
It was fantastic to see the tiny ones play their parts and the older ones perform with total professionalism, they didn’t miss a beat or forget a line.
Amazing!
Credit to EVERYONE involved who nurtured and honed such talent.
Diolch and well done, everyone! Diolch for the invite to watch the Friday preview showing.
Best of luck with your next production.

The NFU has challenged criticism of large dairy farms, warning that tougher environmental rules based on herd size could unfairly penalise producers without tackling the underlying causes of agricultural water pollution

Just remember this.
When Labour say "free movement" we're not talking about hardworking Polish plumbers anymore.
We're talking about the 1 million illegals who Spain's Pedro Sánchez just put on a fast-track to citizenship.
They will head straight to the UK.

🐄 After speaking directly to farmers at the Welsh Dairy Show in Carmarthenshire on Tuesday morning, I asked the Welsh Government for an oral statement on our Dairy Industry in Wales, setting out how the Welsh Government is working with Westminster to secure the support our farmers need.
🥛 As a former Dairy Farmer’s daughter and Shadow Minister for Food, Farming and Rural Affairs, I will keep pressing for action on milk prices, contracts and TB. Our family farms’ and Dairy Industry’s future depends on getting this right.

Plaid Cymru lectures Wales about equality. Its record on women tells a rather different story.
2023: its own review exposed a toxic culture of misogyny, harassment and bullying.
2024: unlawful discrimination against women’s rights charity FiLiA.
2026: Safa Elhassan quits the Women’s and Girls’ Rights Cross-Party Group, the first of its kind in the Senedd (involving organisations including @WRNWales and @MerchedCymru) with local media reporting allegations that male Plaid staffers bullied her into withdrawing.
Three years. Same disturbing theme: misogyny, discrimination and alleged bullying when women’s sex-based rights become politically inconvenient.
Plaid is now the party of government. The sex-based rights of half its electorate are neither optional nor negotiable.
And my scrutiny won’t be optional, either.
