We include a vote density mode because land doesn't vote, people do. Pratt is strongest in the low-density areas from the Palisades to Beverly Glen. Raman’s support is concentrated in dense neighborhoods along the 101 corridor in Central LA, while Bass runs strongly in South LA.

As Alaska and Mississippi lean towards Democrats, Democrats are poised to take 56 seats in the Senate.

Well, Mississippi could upend this math in a significant way for Dems should Colom win. Dems would need to hold their own and win 4 of NC, WI, IA, KS, AK, SC, FL for a filibuster-proof majority in 2028.
One underdiscussed implication of Democrats’ commanding Senate performance tonight: a filibuster-proof majority could be within reach in 2028. Dems would need to hold their own and flip 5 of NC, WI, IA, KS, AK, SC, FL. Tall order, but not impossible in a blue enough environment.

Squint and you can see the path taking shape, but candidate recruitment will be paramount. Iowa could be an open seat if Grassley retires. Laura Kelly will face calls to run in Kansas. Jeff Jackson in North Carolina. Etc.

Democrats have swept the governorships in Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, replicating Barack Obama's 2008 electoral success across the region.

Kurt Alme is on track for a 9-point win in the end, meanwhile Bankhead draws about 12% of the vote. A real possibility that her refusal to withdraw from the race will cost Democrats a filibuster-proof majority in 2028. They'll probably need 4 flips now vs 3 if Bodnar had won.

Louisiana (Letlow +2) and Mississippi (Colom +?) both have gubernatorial races next year, as does Kentucky. After the GOP’s collapse across the Deep South, Democrats could go 3-0 in an off-year with strong candidates (Presley, Atkins).

Mississippi's count could run into the morning, but the signs point to Colom. Late votes here can get bluer, mail is accepted for 5 more business days, and as in Louisiana, Black turnout is expanding the electorate. Colom looks poised to win.
All eyes on Hinds County, MS, where turnout is running high: already 89% of its 2024 vote, vs. ~70% in whiter DeSoto and Rankin. In Louisiana, Black-majority parishes hit 80% of 2024 turnout vs. 71% elsewhere. If Mississippi follows, Colom is favored to win.

Suffice it to say Dearborn came out for El-Sayed pretty heavily. One precinct shown but it’s consistent across most of them (2024 result in map, 2024 and 2026 results on the left).

Mississippi does not allow automatic or candidate-requested recounts, regardless of how close an election is, according to Ballotpedia. That means even an extremely narrow margin in the U.S. Senate race would not trigger a recount. A recount would require judicial intervention.

This is a shocker developing. In the past provisionals reported after Election Night have shifted left which is good for Colom. So tight. CHS's best chance is there are votes left in a red county we don't know about right now.

Florida's majority-Hispanic counties have swung 19.2 points toward Nixon from 2024. Miami-Dade, about 69% Hispanic and Trump +11 in 2024, is leading it. Cuban areas were expected to swing back the least of Hispanic voters. Get ready for Texas, the de-alignment is in FULL FORCE.
