Heya Dave . . . I'm going to bring some understanding to your confusion . . . While the answer to your question seems like it would be simple, the answer is dependent on circumstances and judgment . . . If the match is televised when the action occurs, then the commentators take over. Speaking over the play-by-play guys should never happen . . . But whether the match is televised or not, the action between wrestlers always is more important than what a ring announcer has to say. Fans will get quiet to listen to what the ring announcer says which interferes with the reaction that the wrestlers are working hard to elicit . . . So, I'd never interrupt the flow of the action which would undermine the reaction that the wrestlers are trying to achieve . . . Make sense? . . . There's more to ring announcing than just talking . . . Comes with experience and understanding your role . . . Thanks for following my page! . . . gmc

I never understood, and still don't .. when either a brawl breaks out before the introductions or after the match, why do the ring announcers stop? They can still make announcements outside the ring. What's the reason for stopping? To add more drama? Thx
Thank you for your kind comments . . . Like everything else, styles of ring announcing evolve . . . It's a personal taste . . . Thanks again! . . . gmc

I was a wwf kid in the 90s but when I go back and watch the wcw stuff in the vault your announcing was awesome. The announcing today is unbearable. Part of the reason I can barely watch anymore.
