Which various people screaming blue murder about possibly new laws regarding cyclists and e-vehicle users. I have to smile when they say but Holland doesn't have rules like these. SWOV Institute for Hollands Road Safety Research, say swov.nl/en/fact-sheet/bicycl…
Just to add that people are beginning to realise that in Holland too. theguardian.com/world/articl…
TO back up the previous post, here is how helmets work even when a cyclist is hit by a speeding car, as proven by the cyclist! So please unexplain the science and the lived experience of an expert youtu.be/SgH5ZwZ1OdI?si=3-2w…

💜You'll be seeing purple.
Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
To mark the day landmarks across the country are lighting up in solidarity with the 1 in 5 people in Ireland living with a disability.
Share your support using#PurpleLights25 #IDPwD25.

ALT Five campaigners pose for a photo in a room illuminated by strong purple lighting. From left to right: a woman holds a glowing orb; a woman holds a neon heart outline; a man holds a glow stick; a man in a sweater stands in the center; and a man on the far right holds a sign reading "#PurpleLights25". A large cutout text sign reading "#PurpleLights" stretches across the front of the group.
The very first image I poste on Twitter as it was then, was this shot on #MakeWayDay 2017. The second shot is #MakeWayDay25 launch. Fighting for safe access to the public realm for the disabled community @DisabilityFed @wicklowcoco
So the he hates cyclists can shush up. Here's a car blocking the path. Same selfishness same lack of awareness on #MakeWayDay it's frustrating. @DisabilityFed @gardainfo @GardaTraffic
#MakeWayDay in Killester a simple lack of thought and awareness makes this a bad place to chain you bike #MakeWayDay @DisabilityFed

The issue simply will not go away because LTNs are unfair and ineffective. Groups opposed have come together and have written to the transport secretary, Heidi Alexander, to demand that councils get communities’ approval before starting the schemes.

The fact is it does not evaporate…
You can show it’s not there with data and statistics…..
Trust your eyes ….
4 years almost and LTN advocates continue to support increased harm upon families and children living outside LTNs for personal comfort and pleasure…

Thank you very much for this. We hadn't seen it before. The very roads where Lambeth's LTNs are directing traffic are already the most polluted by some margin.

Growing increase of Limebike users riding on pavements - unaware, or without care to Highway Code, Bylaws, and Lime’s own user rules.
Having e-bike come towards me & up from behind on pavements is a common occurrence. More worrying when the pavement is narrow. On this day there were also 4 men on e-bikes minutes before. Note the clearly marked cycle lane a metre away. @OnLondon @thetimes #Pavements4people
You have to love it when some able planner, manager or Green Councilor, says "we understand it will be tough". Wrong it will be impossible for a large number of residents. The Older and Disabled Communities particularly. Eco Ableism 101 bbc.com/news/articles/c3e1jz…
