This delay by Chennai Metro Rail has resulted in thousands of commuters in areas like Alapakkam, Virugambakkam, Valasaravakkam and Saligramam not being able to access stations closer to their residence despite the opening of this mass rapid transit along Arcot Road.
Nearly 10 months past the deadline, #ChennaiMetroRail has failed to complete the construction of six stations in the Poonamallee-Vadapalani stretch of the Phase II network, which is likely to be completed only by March 2027, reports @SunithaSekar. thehindu.com/news/cities/che…

Sea water has crossed the road at Ennore’s Bharathiyar Nagar in North Chennai:
"The situation remains manageable, though residents may need assistance if water levels rise overnight," said Vishanth of Ennore Solidarity Group.
Fishermen were instructed not to venture into the sea or spread their nets on Oct 26 and 27, so nobody entered for fishing as far as we know now, he said.
No immediate injuries or other problems were reported, but people remain in the locality as they monitor the situation. If the sea continues to breach and water entered homes in case of rain, help would be needed, he mentioned.

Based on the request from passengers, Chennai Metro Rail has changed the train timings. From 23 Oct, in Poonamallee-Vadapalani stretch, train services have been advanced and will start at 6 am. The last train service remains unchanged and it will be at 9 pm @THChennai
