@CyrilRamaphosa @JacintaNgobese @SAPoliceService @SANDF_PR Illegal immigrants from Ethiopia & Somalia have declared war on SA citizens holding a community meeting with taxi drivers in Korsten, Gqeberha.
These illegal foreigners were armed with guns and machetes. #Korsten
The arrival of Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma in Gqeberha, combined with campaigns to board buses, is strengthening the March and March Movement. Organisers have launched fundraising to secure more than 7 buses to transport supporters from other provinces straight to Gqeberha.
Currently, SAPS police have moved in and raided the shops and buildings of these businesses in Korsten to search for those illegal weapons and keep the area calm. Meanwhile, March and March leader Jacinta faces court challenges restricting her power to hold protests.
Before this, the Mayibuye Civic Movement held “Siyothatha iPhone Zethu” marches, complaining that the Korsten business areas run by foreigners are used to trade stolen goods. Foreign shop owners claim they armed themselves primarily to protect shops and business stock.
Things escalated drastically when Somalis and other foreign businessmen brought heavy firearms and machetes into the streets of Korsten. This emergence of chaos left many crying out that "our country is now lawless" seeing foreigners carry firearms before unarmed citizens.
This issue has fueled fear and widespread discussions across the country, especially as pictures and videos circulate showing those groups of people brandishing heavy weapons in the streets. The division and unrest started after a community meeting with local taxi drivers.
Le mvelwano nentshukumo iqinisa imfuno yoluntu yokuba uqoqosho lwaselokishini malubuyele ezandleni zabemi.
