Leon Slater feels he would not be TNA World Champion without spending some time in WWE:
“I feel like for someone that doesn’t work there and that hasn’t ever signed a deal there, I feel like my run there was as if I’d been working there for two or three years. And I think the difference between me and a couple other people is that I used my opportunity there. I gained the platform, exposure, countless lessons learned, and I’ve run them back to TNA.
I’ll be honest. I wouldn’t be TNA world champion right now if it wasn’t for my time in NXT and those couple of times on the main roster as well because like I said, those lessons have been invaluable.
So to anyone that thinks TNA is just the stepping stone, I don’t think that’s the case at all. I think it is a true partnership where people from our side, from the TNA side, get to go over there and learn a complete style. And the same thing with the people from NXT that have come over to TNA in the past. They get to work with people like Nic Nemeth, Matt and Jeff Hardy, a Frankie Kazarian. You know, these guys that have been in the game 20, 25, 30, 35 years. Which is, again, absolutely invaluable experience for wrestlers of any caliber.”

This is a great example of 2 things: 1. How politicians package things have massive influence. 2. Not understanding 2nd order effects are often as meaningful or more meaningful than 1st order effects.
This law benefits me. I voted against it. It is a power play wrapped as a tax break. Homestead taxes go to local governments, not the state. This law moves money from local budgets to state control. It starves local municipalities of funding, which will force them to bend to the state’s demands to get their share of budget allocated. Police, firefighters, and EMTs are all funded by local taxes and will have lower budgets unless local govs do something to negate the loss. So to offset, counties and municipalities will have to institute local sales taxes to ensure they have the funding necessary to meet their budgets and provide critical services and infrastructure. This law gives the biggest tax breaks to those who own the largest homes and will force the average Floridian to pay higher taxes on everything they buy.
Voting matters. Know what you’re voting for.
