Cribiform and intraductal carcinoma in prostate cancer-implications for risk stratification and therapeutic decision making (REVIEW)
Intraductal carcinoma of the prostate (IDC) 🔬 and invasive cribriform carcinoma are aggressive histological patterns associated with adverse pathology, metastasis, and prostate cancer mortality.
➡️ Frequently underdetected on biopsy, they exhibit PTEN loss, genomic instability, DNA-repair alterations, and immunologically cold tumour microenvironments.
➡️ Although these features suggest potential biomarker-directed therapies, evidence remains insufficient.
✅ Standardized reporting, improved detection, and prospective studies are essential to guide risk stratification and treatment decisions. #ProstateCancer
