El-Sayed: "People don't trust our party because too often we're funded by the very same people who fund Republicans... Can we actually cut the cord that we've had to corporate money and start governing like we give a damn about working people?"

When we return next week, we’ll get 218 signatures for Epstein Files Transparency Act II, which guarantees a vote. Survivors will be able to get their own records, State Attorneys General can prosecute crimes, and we can take the DOJ to court for keeping critical files hidden.⚖️

Don't fall for the rebrand that JD, DeSantis, and Cruz are trying to pull. They want to run for President in 2028 so they're trying to pretend they were sensible republicans this whole time. They made their terms about trans people and woke DEI. Don't let them shift blame.

Gonna go ahead and say my piece on this and I'm sure this won't age poorly: If this was for his comments before the game, fine, I get it. If this is about the play of Jeanty vs Mike Washington, I seriously need to call into question Kubiak's ability to evaluate RB play. If you watch these games their run scheme is an absolute disaster in execution and whenever Jeanty was on the field, he'd often face 8+ guys in the box with first level penetration. Whenever Washington was on the field teams lightened the box intentionally and this is why he was able to spring explosive runs, but he'd still struggle to create consistent gains, or force missed tackles. The Jets game was a blowup spot for their run game. They benched JPJ for Trey Zuhn and the Jets were missing Sweat. The fact Washington couldn't force a single missed tackle in 25 attempts on top of inefficiency isn't good. You gave Zach Charbonnet almost as many carries last year as K9. It took a season ending injury to Charbs for K9 to eclipse more than 19 attempts in a game last season. There is keeping your guys fresh and then there is just blatant misuse of talent. The passing game is incredible and there's a reason Kubiak was held in high esteem during the coaching cycle and he has proven that just this season. Miss me with his whole comments about the run game.
The Raiders hope Ashton Jeanty’s soft benching serves as a wake up call, per @DanGrazianoESPN “Jeanty hasn't played well while Washington has, and the Raiders hope it serves as a wake-up call. If it doesn't, they're content to distribute the carries in Washington's favor moving forward, as he offers a more explosive element in the run game right now.”

May be unpopular but fuck impeaching Trump. Go after Hegsgeth and RFK and the rest of his acolytes. Pass an ethics bill banning stock trading, imposing term limits, and eliminate PAC money and force him to veto it. Defund his bullshit war, repeal his tariffs and kneecap ICE. Investigate tf out of his kids and cronies and make their lives hell. And most of all, make him watch. Let him complain and spend all of his time on grievances. And finally, kill all of his vanity projects. The ballroom, the arch, everything. Make him eat it. Impeachment is a mercy at this point.

What is the point of a politician — let alone a literal vice president — who says he understood all of this and yet did absolutely nothing about it
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries will not meet this moment and are unfit to lead this new blue wave. If the democrats are serious about getting things done and going full opposition to Trump, new leadership must be in place.
