We might have our difficulties here in Africa, especially in Ghana, but one thing I will always pride myself on is how we were brought up as children, even in rough and tough neighbourhoods. Murder is a big deal out here. It’s almost alien to us because whenever something like that happens, it becomes major news. We announce and discuss almost every single case in the media, and as a people, we are always shocked and saddened by it. But it seems to have become an almost regular thing in some parts of the West, which makes it scary for my people to feel safe out there. I honestly don’t know what kind of upbringing shapes children to become so evil. I think some of my fellow Black brothers and sisters out there need to do better when it comes to raising their children and instilling the right values in them. It’s very unfortunate that we had to lose Javits this way. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Sending love, prayers and strength to the family, especially his mum and dad. My deepest condolences. ❤️

Messi. Higher goals-per-game rate, far more assists, eight Ballon d'Ors and the World Cup outweigh Ronaldo's raw goal total and UCL edge on pure statistical balance.

Rapperholic is bigger than a concert! It stimulates economic activity across Kumasi, Accra and the wider Ghanaian economy through tourism, hospitality, transportation, food, fashion, media, advertising, employment and the creative supply chain. The economic value of this concert extends far beyond ticket sales. It includes visitor spending, revenue for local businesses, temporary jobs created, suppliers paid and the future tourism and commercial opportunities generated by the event. To the government and private sector, the opportunity is to build an ecosystem where Ghanaian entertainment generates measurable economic value, supports businesses, creates jobs and attracts visitors. Let’s invest in our creative economy. The potential goes far beyond the stage. 🇬🇭 #RapperholicKumasi26

DEAR CHRISTIANS, HINDUS, BUDDHISTS AND PEOPLE OF EVERY FAITH: I HAVE REACHED MY BREAKING POINT. Effective immediately, I no longer identify as a Muslim. The killing of the Bangladeshi couple has deeply traumatized me, shaken my beliefs and forced me to confront questions I can no longer ignore. Between love and an AK-47, I choose love. Between humility, kindness and a machete, I choose kindness. Between embracing my neighbour and spilling their blood in the name of God, I choose humanity. I am ready for my pork, my beer 🍻, my hugs, my laughter and the freedom to love my neighbours without fear. I want to sit with happy people, respect different beliefs and live without being told that somebody must die because they offended another person's God. ALLLAH DID NOT CREATE HUMANITY SO THAT HUMAN BEINGS COULD ENSLAVE, TERRORIZE OR SLAUGHTER ONE ANOTHER IN HIS NAME. I am an African. A proud Kenyan. A Luo. Before any religious label, I am a human being, and I refuse to surrender my conscience to any ideology that demands blood as proof of devotion. I cannot accept killing in the name of God. I cannot accept shooting in the name of God. I cannot accept decapitation in the name of God. If your understanding of religion requires me to become a murderer to prove my faith, then I want no part of it. If God needs me to kill on His behalf, I have serious questions about the god being presented to me. My heart is tired of religious arguments that turn human suffering into a theological debate. A dead person is not brought back to life because someone quotes scripture. A grieving family does not find comfort in explanations about sacred places. Brutality does not become righteous simply because the perpetrator claims divine authority. I want a world where Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists and people of every other conviction can live together without fearing one another. I want faith that produces compassion, not terror; humility, not arrogance; peace, not bloodshed. I will not pretend that every religion or religious community is responsible for the actions of its extremists. Nor will I condemn innocent people because of the beliefs they hold. I will question, without apology, every ideology, institution and authority that excuses cruelty in the name of the sacred. MY HUMANITY IS NOT NEGOTIABLE. MY CONSCIENCE IS NOT FOR SALE. NO RELIGION WILL CONVINCE ME THAT ANOTHER HUMAN BEING'S BLOOD IS THE PRICE OF MY SALVATION. I choose love. I choose kindness. I choose Africa. I choose humanity. And I refuse to be ashamed of choosing life over religiously justified violence. – at Ruiru, Kenya

I’ve watched this video several times, and what disturbs me most isn’t the moment the gate closes. It’s everything that happened before it. For five days, these animals returned to the same place, ate the same food, and walked away unharmed. Each visit made the next one easier. Nothing about the environment appeared to change, yet something important was happening. Their behavior was becoming predictable. What looked like an ordinary feeding routine was gradually becoming the foundation of a trap they had no reason to anticipate. What makes the situation particularly unsettling is the patience of the person behind it. He didn’t need to chase the animals or force them into the enclosure. He simply created the conditions under which they would enter willingly. The food was real, the rewards were immediate, and the consequences remained hidden. While the animals were responding to what was directly in front of them, someone else was thinking several steps ahead. The difference wasn’t physical strength or intelligence alone. It was the advantage of understanding the entire arrangement while the other side understood only its immediate benefits. And this is where the video becomes a disturbing reflection of human behavior. Not every dangerous arrangement announces itself through cruelty or deception. Some begin with opportunity, generosity, and an extraordinary degree of convenience. People become attached to what consistently rewards them, often without examining the conditions that make those rewards possible. They confuse being accommodated with being valued, being needed with being indispensable, and having access with having control. The danger isn’t necessarily that someone is lying to them. It’s that they may be making permanent decisions based on circumstances someone else can change overnight. But there’s an even more uncomfortable realization here. The animals didn’t lose their freedom because they wanted food. They lost it because the environment was designed to turn an ordinary need into an opportunity for capture. And that distinction matters. Having needs doesn’t make someone foolish, and accepting help doesn’t make someone weak. The real danger begins when another person understands your dependencies better than you understand their intentions. At that point, they may not need to control your decisions directly. They only need to control the circumstances under which those decisions are made. What stays with me is what happened after the gate closed. The food remained exactly where it had always been, but the animals’ attention shifted toward the boundaries of the enclosure. I can’t know what they understood, yet the contrast is striking. Nothing about the reward had changed. What changed was their ability to leave. And perhaps that’s something people rarely consider while life is going well. We spend so much time evaluating what an arrangement gives us that we forget to ask what it would cost to walk away from it. Sometimes the true price of a benefit becomes visible only when you try to refuse it. The lesson I take from this isn’t that generosity should be feared or that trust should be abandoned. It’s that independence requires more than favorable circumstances. It requires understanding who holds the power to change them. Five days were enough to establish a routine, but one moment exposed the limits of that routine. The food was still there. The benefits hadn’t disappeared. Only the freedom to leave had been taken away. And perhaps the most important question isn’t whether you’re comfortable with what someone offers you, but whether your life would still belong to you if they stopped offering it.

Young men. Don’t fall out because of politics. Don’t threaten each other because of politics. Don’t do it. It is okay to choose a side, follow your convictions and support a cause. Preach your policies and principles. But don’t let emotions drive you to insult everyone, friends family. Don’t destroy relationships. Don’t attack a brother/sister because they don’t believe in what you do. There is an unspoken unity at the very top. Don’t destroy yourselves. Those who chose insults and attacks in the past, and destroyed relationships, continue to live with eternal regrets. The whole game is schemed.
