This is not for the consulting of the consultants. It's merely for travel and expenses of the consultants so they could come to California and consult...Which costs way more than $600K.
Breaking News: The chief executive of California’s High-Speed Rail Authority has abruptly resigned after a recent state report that found that the agency had misused nearly $600,000 to pay for the travel of consultants. This is a developing story. nyti.ms/4zoacHi

Sigh.

On the Enterprise, Picard was a dictator. His every order was to be followed without question. He was a military authoritarian...
This was (still is) good news for $IBRX. The stock has been selling off dramatically since it hit the feed. In my opinion, it's classic "sell the news" behavior. Folks had profits—some had huge profits—so they sold to try something else. I think that's a mistake.
A society ought to crush abnormality and perversion.
Make an example of it, as Chesterton recommended.
We didn't. We allowed it to become normal.
Now we exist in an ever-evolving, always expanding lie.

NEW UNDERCOVER INVESTIGATION: I spent several months investigating a nationwide network of advocacy organizations and medical providers helping families continue medically transitioning their children in defiance of state laws.
My investigation centers on Campaign for Southern Equality (CSE), an LGBT advocacy nonprofit that connects families with cooperating medical providers across the country. CSE has distributed over $1 million in travel grants to more than 1,200 families, plus another $1 million to partner organizations, including funding for medical appointments.
With CSE's knowledge, providers in its referral network told me the ways that they circumvent state restrictions on gender-transition treatments for minors.
Some discussed using alternative diagnosis codes, such as “endocrine disorder,” to facilitate prescriptions or insurance coverage. Others described mailing medications directly to families' homes or sending prescriptions to pharmacies in states where these interventions are banned.
Providers also discussed conducting virtual appointments with patients in those states. Others required patients to cross state lines for telehealth but did not appear to have a reliable method for verifying their physical location.
My primary undercover scenario involved an 11-year-old girl in Tennessee who had only recently begun identifying as nonbinary, with no long history of gender-related distress. The providers I shared this scenario with seemed eager to treat her. Many indicated that puberty blockers could be prescribed after an initial evaluation lasting just one to several hours.
My investigation uncovered practices that may violate state and federal laws and pose medical risks to children living hundreds or thousands of miles from their treating physicians.

At the time (was 17, Shields was 15ish) I didn't care. I took note of the controversy not much more. The TV commercial was secondary to the uproar over the print ad. Today, (a father of daughters) my distain for people who did this is unbound. They are literal societal poisoners.
This is a great sentiment.

Last two decades leave little doubt we in America over vaccinate and vaccination risks are dramatically downplayed for fear of backlash against vaccination.
It's a horrible situation. Vaccinations, properly administered, are a social good, but faith in them is justifiably low.
Yah this clip lives on and was near the beginning of my investigations and education in medical, govt., and vaccine corruption. But rest assured, I’m still doing this type of reporting today on my television program @FullMeasurenews now in its 12 year.
Great. I would, however, remind folks that the definition of blasphemy is "treating God as if he were a common thing". I'm not condemning or accusing, I'm just say'n.
In the 18th and even the 19th centuries responsible 14-year-olds could be left in charge of entire households for weeks on end. The prevailing environment accelerated maturity. John Quincy Adams was a foreign diplomat at 14. Today's teens, however, are of a different stripe.
Replying to @just_mindy
The crashout over this is so disproportionate. A 14-yr-old can take care of siblings. Overnights are a bigger ask, but if there is an adult checking in regularly, as there was, that mitigates risk. An accident happening on a 14-yr-old’s watch is not proof the situation was criminally dangerous just as an accident on a parent’s watch wouldn’t be, and a lot of parents would not survive that scrutiny. It is a giant thing to take children out of their home, in this case actually making them far more in danger by putting them with someone with a restraining order, oops. The “harm” you are attempting to avoid by removing them from the home should be severe to take that action, and even in the reach charges they’ve attempted on this woman, they don’t allege large harm. People’s imaginations and desire to judge turn this into a situation of grave danger when it simply wasn’t. Humans are bad at risk calculation and great at imposing their own risk calculations and anxiety on others (please see Covid). And even that would be okay if they didn’t demand that people with different risk calculations and life circumstances were criminalized (please see Covid). I also think a lot of people don’t know how many teenagers and medium-grade kids are left at home alone while parents have to work odd hours, which is weird, because most of the people reacting grew up in the latchkey era.
I think maybe @BishopBarron jumped the gun a little bit here. I don't know the whole story so I could be way off base, but from what I do know there was some context missing from the sensational social media posts that riled more conservative Catholics up.
Terrific response by Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco to @BishopBarron disgraceful attack on his integrity. Vesco speaks from the Church, Barron for himself.
Quick question. What the hell?
