I’m one of the people who went to Lafayette Square last June in support of #BLM, & was driven away by riot police with teargas, & flash grenades. I saw the report finding no link between the clearing of the park & the photo op. Initially I was not going to respond...
I am moving to Bluesky. I'll be RevGini there. I haven't posted here in a brick as my 24 year-old would say, but I've got some things to say about waging peace and being subversive with love and joy. Follow me on FB or Bluesky! (I'm just Gini Gerbasi on FB)
I love our episode this week. The Bible stories are both funny and deeply meaningful - right in our sweet spot! Join me and @AngliPriest for this week's episode of The Irreverends - Episode 109: Are you there, Samuel? It's me, God. stjohnsgeorgetown.org/2024/0…
When I was growing up, my sisters and I LOVED Andy Williams Christmas Album. We pretty much wore it out. So naturally, he inspired the meme for this week's Irreverends' Episode: stjohnsgeorgetown.org/2023/1…

I love recording The Irreverends with @AngliPriest every week. It's everything you've always wanted in a progressive religious podcast, but 1/3 less serious!

I haven't been on this thing since the name change, but I'm in the hope business, and am not yet ready to give up on this platform. I'll try to post more often, and of course my bent is progressive Christianity. Wish me luck.

God spoke to me this morning with flowers that appeared overnight behind the Lenten Roses. They tell of Holy Saturday: bleeding hearts and forget-me-nots.
It may rain in DC tomorrow, but it will be a BEAUTIFUL day in the neighborhood at St. John's, Georgetown for Mr. Rogers Sunday. Join us at 9 and 11!
McPherson Square has been a place of last resort in DC for people who have nowhere else to go. Where are these folks supposed to go in the middle of the winter?

We do a theme Sunday twice a year when we use the stories & music that kids (& parents) already know to tell the stories of God. August was Encanto Sunday. The theme needs music, costume & decorating possibilities & a good message. Ideas?
