Global Businesses Back Inclusive Multilateralism as the UN Turns 80 As the world faces growing geopolitical tensions, rapid technological change, and deepening divisions, the private sector is reaffirming its commitment to an inclusive, effective, and trusted multilateral system. Together with our partners — @iccwbo, @ioevoice and World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) — the UN Global Compact has signed a joint statement backing the reform and modernization of multilateralism as the United Nations approaches its 80th anniversary. 🔹 Businesses and employers are ready to help implement the Pact for the Future, align investments with the SDGs, and ensure innovation — including AI — is governed responsibly. 🔹 We call for predictable, rules-based trade, open markets, and sustainable enterprises that generate decent jobs and opportunity worldwide. 🔹 Above all, we believe global stability is the foundation for prosperity, and the UN remains a vital anchor for cooperation. The message is clear: modernized multilateralism, with meaningful private sector engagement, is essential to deliver for people and planet.
