Imagine being some chud American on an island and the American Navy says you are in charge and leaves
By June 1898, Spain had held Guam for four centuries, but the island was so neglected that the local authorities hadn’t received news for months. They didn't even know the Spanish-American War had begun. The USS Charleston slides into the harbor, expecting resistance. Nada. So they fired a few warning shots at an old fort, which the Spanish interpreted as a friendly salute. Local officials rowed out in a boat and apologized that they were out of gunpowder so they couldn’t return the "salute." The Americans said, "Uh, yeah ... we’re at war so you’re our prisoners.” The Spanish officials were stunned. After some awkward back-and-forth, the Spanish governor surrendered, along with ~50 poorly equipped soldiers. No one got hurt. Completely bloodless. US sailors raised the flag and found a single American citizen on the island. A merchant whose previous job was as an elevator operator in San Francisco. The ship's captain said, "you're in charge now," and sailed off to the Philippines. It took about six months for the Americans to return.

“you want to buy assets but there are going to be asset seizures and hyperinflation” He is referring to a Great Repression, where the government uses capital controls to seize your assets like they did with Gold in 1933 and pegged interest rates in 1942 Recommend reading the 71 page paper “The Great Repression” by the IMF.
People keep asking me for investment advice and it makes me realize I need to figure out how to explain this better. Reindustrialization is going to be as big as the Gold Rush, the Industrial Revolution, the Meiji Restoration, the buildout of the original railroads. It's bigger than buying stocks or bonds. What you are looking at is a total (re)construction of the American nation. The most important thing is understand is the timing. First, we are going to get a $50 billion debt bomb (2030-2034, thanks Boomers!). Second, we are going to get a $100 trillion reindustrialization. You don't want to make purchases right now because your purchases are highly situational: you want to buy assets but there are going to be asset seizures and hyperinflation due to the coming political struggle. You don't really want to purchase bonds because the $50 trillion debt is going to be hyperinflated away, never repaid. Today you could purchase something and it gets seized due to political volatility rather than the underlying material economic valuations. What you are looking at is on the scale of the civil war between Marius and Sulla. Sulla did a bunch of proscriptions, where he made a list of rich political opponents and "liquidated" their holdings. Property rights are a very "fluid" thing right now. A lot of men will get rich, and a lot of men will get wiped out. The best way to position yourself is by getting connected and networked up with the winning team of friends who will cut you in. Free market globalism is dead. Offshoring to China is dead. Offshoring to India remains ongoing at scale, but it's living on borrowed time. What comes next is old-fashioned aristocratic patronage networks based on gangsters. I am not going to tell you specific moves to make, other than saying: >All of America is getting rebuilt >Wealth is shifting from blue coastal cities to red states who will favor industrial deregulation and rapid permits. >The military-industrial complex involves a merger between the Pentagon and Silicon Valley. >Wall Street is fence-sitting while financing this from the sidelines. >Academia and NGOs are getting wiped out. >If you want a detailed breakdown, look at how Oriental countries modernized and built industrial militaries when they felt threatened by European colonialism. That's the big comparison here. Right now, America is threatened by China with WW3 in the Pacific. Look at the Meiji Restoration. Japan built up a military-industrial power with government money, then sold off the industrial base to private zaibatsu political allies. The Japanese government put up the initial seed capital. The project went from Zero to One, then from One to "N". Japan's industrialization spent government money to get off the ground and then it hit scale, hit escape velocity, and got sold off to private families who supported the incumbent elite faction. That's a reasonable extrapolation of how this will play out. Everything is up in the air, and you have 5 years to prepare. I am just saying, this is the Big Event. You need to know that. From now on, keep your eyes out. Just stay alert and be looking for an angle to cash in. You can build a dynasty for the next 3-5 generations with the money you make. You can set up your children and grandchildren to be elites in the coming realignment. Now is the time for ruthless ambitious men to build and chase.

Claude gonna start snitching on Tuesday. Anthropic just emailed customers. Starting Nov 3, text carries an invisible watermark. You can't see it. It survives copy and paste, and it can survive some editing. Only regulators, journalists, fact-checkers and researchers can check for it right now. It doesn't say who you are. It says Claude touched the words. Even a quick proofread counts. If your brand voice runs on Claude, write like someone might check. Because now someone can.

Seriously, it’s my public stock. If I want it in digital form, I should be able to do that. This a form of capital control and anti capitalism in practice.
They should go private then. If they want to be publicly traded then they should allow the public to trade them at the venue of their choosing
