๐จArsenal captain Martin รdegaard says Arsenal need to move on following the defeat to Fleetwood in the Carabao Cup this week: โIt's very frustrating to go out. Obviously, the way we've played was not on the level. We need to do much, much better than we did.
"Frustrating, but congratulations to Fleetwood and we look forward to the next game already and bounce back. They did well so we have to give them credit, but... we need to do better.๏ฟผ
๐ฃ๏ธ Ben White on making his 200th Arsenal appearance:
โItโs amazing to play 200 games for this club. I wouldnโt want to be anywhere else.
โI had four years on the bounce at different teams. So to come here and be here this long, and play that many games, is a really nice feeling.โ
๐จ๐ฃ๏ธPaul Merson takes a swipe at Bukayo Saka while praising Martin รdegaard!
โรdegaard has been Arsenalโs best player for me this season. He was outstanding against Everton. He makes everything tick, he is comfortable on the ball, his left foot is fantastic, and when his confidence is high, you can see the difference he makes to the entire team.
โBut honestly, what has happened to Bukayo Saka? For a player who is supposed to be Arsenalโs superstar, he has been ghosting in too many matches. You expect him to take responsibility, make things happen and step up when the team needs him, but lately, he has not been delivering at the level people expect.
โIt is a shame because we know how good Saka can be. But reputation cannot keep you above criticism forever. รdegaard is showing his quality, while Saka needs to remind people why he was considered one of Arsenalโs most dangerous players.
โYou cannot keep calling yourself a big player if you disappear when the pressure rises. Arsenal need match-winners, not players who rely on their reputation.โ
๐ฃ๏ธ Paul Merson believes Arsenal will be right up there in Europe this season:
โI still think PSG are the team to beat but Arsenal won't be far off, without a doubt.
โTheyโve responded with flying colours. You want to see how a team responds to going behind and they responded very well.โ ๐ฅ
๐จ๐ฃ๏ธ Paul Merson QUESTIONS Mikel Artetaโs treatment of Max Dowman after Arsenalโs humiliating Fleetwood exit!
โI didnโt like what I saw at all. Max Dowman is a young player, and the way Arteta appeared to be speaking to him as he walked down the tunnel didnโt sit right with me.
โArsenal have just been knocked out by Fleetwood on penalties, and now weโre looking at a teenager who has received a red card. Where is the responsibility from the senior players and the manager?
โArteta talks about building a team, protecting young players and creating the right environment. But when things go wrong, that is when your man-management is really tested.
โYou cannot keep telling everyone that you trust young players, then make them feel like the entire defeat is on their shoulders. Dowman will learn from this. He is young. What matters is how the manager handles the situation afterwards.
โArsenal have bigger problems to worry about than a teenager making a mistake. They need to look at why a club of their size ended up in this position against Fleetwood in the first place.โ
๐ฅ Arsenal fans, was Arteta right to hold Dowman accountable, or should he have protected the teenager after such a humiliating night?
๐จ๐๏ธ Roy Keane SLAMS Mikel Arteta after Arsenalโs SHOCK Carabao Cup exit to Fleetwood Town!
๐ฃ๏ธโHonestly, this is embarrassing. Arsenal are supposed to be one of the biggest clubs in England, yet they have just been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Fleetwood Town, a League Two side, after losing on penalties.
โLet that sink in. Fleetwood Town! This is one of the biggest nights in that clubโs history, and Arsenal have handed them a story their supporters will be talking about for the rest of their lives.
โAnd people want to tell me Mikel Arteta is the man to deliver the Premier League and Champions League? How can you convince people you are ready to conquer Europe when your team cannot finish the job against a fourth-tier side?
โArsenal can talk about their project, their tactics and how much they have improved, but nights like this are exactly why people still question them. You cannot spend years telling everyone how good your team is and then produce a performance like that when it matters.
โSome of those players should be embarrassed. You are wearing the Arsenal shirt, representing a club with a massive history, and you have allowed Fleetwood to eliminate you from a cup competition. What exactly are the fans supposed to say?
โCredit to Fleetwood. They showed courage, took their opportunity and made history. They will remember this night forever. Arsenal, on the other hand, have become the punchline.
โIf Arteta cannot get Arsenal past Fleetwood, why should anyone automatically trust him to win the biggest trophies in football? Being a big club is not about talking. It is about delivering when people expect you to win.
โTonight, Arsenal have given their rivals everything they need to laugh at them. How the mighty have fallen.โ
๐จ๐๏ธDavid Raya explains why Declan Rice deserved the Ballon dโOr over Harry Kane! ๐ณ๐ฃ
Reporter: David, Harry Kane has won the Ballon dโOr, but some fans believe Declan Rice had a better case. Do you think the right player won?
David Raya:
โHonestly, if you ask me, I would have chosen Declan Rice. And I know people will get angry with me for saying that, but I am looking at the complete season, not just the number of goals a player scores.
โHarry Kane is an excellent striker. Nobody is denying that. But when we talk about the Ballon dโOr, we are supposed to be discussing the best player in the world, not simply the player who scores the most goals.
โDeclan Rice has been exceptional. He has shown his quality in the Premier League, helped Arsenal win the league, delivered important performances in Europe and represented England at the World Cup. He influences games in so many different ways. He wins duels, controls the midfield, protects the defence, creates opportunities and gives his team the confidence to dominate opponents.
โNow, tell me, why should all of that be ignored because he does not score as many goals as Harry Kane?
Reporter: But Kaneโs numbers in Germany have been incredible. Surely that deserves recognition?
David Raya:
โOf course, his numbers deserve recognition. But we also have to consider the competition. People call the Bundesliga a farmers league, and whether you agree with that description or not, you cannot simply compare goals scored in different leagues without considering the level of competition and the demands of the position.
โScoring goals is important, but controlling a difficult Premier League match against top opposition is also important. Rice has consistently shown that he can influence the biggest games without needing to score every week.
โIf we are rewarding goals alone, then just say so. But do not tell me the Ballon dโOr is about the best footballer in the world and then ignore everything a midfielder contributes because his statistics do not look like a strikerโs.
Reporter: So you genuinely believe Declan Rice deserved to win the Ballon dโOr?
David Raya:
โYes. I would put Declan Rice ahead of Harry Kane based on the overall contribution I believe he made. Rice has shown that he can influence matches at the highest level, and his performances deserve far more recognition.
โSometimes, I think people become so obsessed with goals that they forget how football actually works. You need players who can control games, win possession, defend, create chances and make the entire team function.
โHarry Kane deserves respect for his goals, but that does not automatically mean he deserves the Ballon dโOr over every other player.
โIf Declan Rice had scored 40 goals this season, people would probably be calling him the undisputed winner. But because he does the difficult work in midfield, suddenly his performances are not enough.
โThat is the problem with these awards. We talk about the best player, but sometimes we only reward the best goalscorer.
โFor me, Declan Rice deserved to be recognised as one of the strongest candidates for the Ballon dโOr, and I would have chosen him over Harry K
๐จ๐๏ธ Zlatan Ibrahimoviฤ takes a brutal swipe at Thierry Henry after the Ballon dโOr ceremony!
Zlatan Ibrahimoviฤ:
โHarry Kane scores 73 goals, wins the Ballon dโOr, and suddenly people are arguing about penalties and the Bundesliga. ๐
โBut Thierry Henry seems to have more energy for questioning other people than questioning his own behaviour on that stage.
โYou cannot spend the ceremony making jokes at Lamine Yamalโs expense, asking him, โIs this the one you really wanted?โ when he is standing there with his Kopa Trophy, then expect everyone to pretend it was perfect hosting.
โAnd correcting your co-host, Kate Scott, in a way that viewers considered disrespectful while introducing the Sรณcrates Award? There is a difference between knowing football and making other people feel small to prove you know more.
โHenry has every right to favour Mbappรฉ or question Kaneโs Ballon dโOr win. Everyone has an opinion. But if you are hosting footballโs biggest individual award, you should be celebrating the players, not making the ceremony about yourself.
โImagine scoring goals all season and still being told your league is too easy. Imagine winning an award and people immediately searching for reasons you did not deserve it. Football has become a competition where everyone wants to judge the winner instead of appreciating the game.
โBut my biggest question is this: if Thierry Henry cannot host the ceremony without becoming part of the controversy, why is he the one standing on that stage?
โFootball has enough drama on the pitch. We do not need the host creating another competition off it.โ
๐จ๐๏ธ Arsรจne Wenger picks Declan Rice over Yamal and Mbappรฉ for the Ballon dโOr!
๐คReporter: Arsรจne, you have previously spoken against the Ballon dโOr, arguing that football is a team sport. But if you had to choose this yearโs winner, who would be your first choice?
Arsรจne Wenger: ๐ฃ๏ธโYou know my position. I have never been a big fan of the Ballon dโOr because football is a collective sport. I believe we have become too obsessed with individual recognition when the beauty of this game comes from teamwork.
โBut if you ask me to choose a winner, my first choice would be Declan Rice.
โI know people are talking about Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappรฉ, and I respect their quality. But I believe Declan Rice deserves to be part of that conversation. His influence in midfield, his leadership, his consistency and his performances in the Premier League and Champions League should not be overlooked.
โSometimes, we judge players too heavily by goals and assists. A midfielder can control the entire rhythm of a game, protect the defence, create opportunities and make his teammates better without always receiving the same attention.
โFor me, Declan Rice belongs in the TOP THREE, and if I had to choose one winner, I would choose him.โ
๐คReporter: Would Harry Kane also deserve consideration?
Arsรจne Wenger:๐ฃ๏ธโAbsolutely. Harry Kane would be another serious candidate. But if you want my first choice, it is Declan Rice. I would put him ahead of Yamal and Mbappรฉ.
โEven though I disagree with the idea of separating one player from the collective, if the award must be given to an individual, then I believe we should look beyond popularity and appreciate the complete contribution a player makes to his team.โ
๐๏ธ REPORTER: Roy, Arsenal beat Everton 2-0, kept a clean sheet, and their fans are celebrating like theyโve just won the Premier League. Whatโs your take on their performance?
ROY KEANE: Honestly? I think people need to calm down a little bit. They beat Everton 2-0. Well done, give them their three points and move on. But the way some of these Arsenal fans carry on after a win, youโd think theyโve just beaten Real Madrid in a Champions League final. Itโs Everton, for Godโs sake!
๐๏ธ REPORTER: But Roy, Arsenal have been looking solid defensively. Surely they deserve some credit?
ROY KEANE: Credit for what? Doing their jobs? Thatโs the bare minimum at a football club like Arsenal. Theyโve spent an absolute fortune building that squad. They have international players all over the pitch. Are we supposed to give them a standing ovation every time they beat a team theyโre expected to beat?
๐๏ธ REPORTER: Arsenal fans would argue that winning these games consistently is what wins titles.
ROY KEANE: Of course it is! Nobody is disputing that. But thereโs a difference between winning football matches and proving youโre champions. Arsenal fans seem to confuse the two. Every October, theyโre talking about the title. Every time they win a game, the celebrations begin. Then the difficult fixtures arrive, the pressure builds, and suddenly everybody starts making excuses.
๐๏ธ REPORTER: So you donโt think this Arsenal team has what it takes to win the Premier League?
ROY KEANE: Iโve said it before, and Iโll say it again. TALK IS CHEAP. Iโve seen teams play well in October and have absolutely nothing to show for it in May. If Arsenal want to be taken seriously, they need to deliver when it matters. Not just against Everton. Not just when everything is going their way. Show me what happens when they have to go away from home, when theyโre under pressure, when their best players arenโt performing, and when the whole country is waiting to see if they bottle it again.
๐๏ธ REPORTER: Thatโs a strong accusation, Roy. Arsenal fans will say youโre being harsh.
ROY KEANE: Harsh? This is football, not a school sports day where everybody gets a medal for participating! These are professional footballers earning ridiculous amounts of money. Winning is their job. And Arsenal have spent years telling us this is finally their season. At some point, you have to stop talking and actually win something.
๐๏ธ REPORTER: But surely beating Everton 2-0 is a positive result?
ROY KEANE: Nobody said it wasnโt! Itโs a good result. Take the three points and go home. But donโt start behaving like youโve conquered Europe. The way some of their fans celebrate, youโd think the Premier League trophy was already in the Emirates trophy cabinet.
๐๏ธ REPORTER: Last question, Roy. Whatโs your message to Arsenal supporters after this win?
ROY KEANE: Enjoy the three points. Enjoy your Sunday. Have a nice dinner. Do whatever you want. But please, stop telling everybody youโre champions before youโve actually won anything. Because when the season ends, nobody remembers how many times you beat Everton in October. They remember who lifted the trophy.
And if Arsenal win the Premier League, Iโll be the first to give them credit. But until then? STOP THE NOISE AND WIN SOMETHING!
๐จ๐๏ธ Roberto De Zerbi reveals what he told his Tottenham players before they dismantled Chelsea 2โ0: โI told them Chelseaโs attack wasnโt complete, so stop worrying about defending and go after them!โ
Reporter: Roberto, Tottenham completely outplayed Chelsea. What exactly did you tell your players before the game?
Roberto De Zerbi: ๐ฃ๏ธ โI told them, โListen carefully. Joรฃo Pedro isnโt playing, and that changes Chelseaโs attack. They donโt have their complete attacking options, so why should we spend the entire game being afraid of them? We need to take the initiative, attack them and make their defenders work.โ Same way we will approach a team like arsenalโ
โI told my players that Chelsea would struggle to create the same problems without Joรฃo Pedro. We had to take advantage of that weakness instead of sitting deep and giving them confidence. I wanted us to press high, move the ball quickly and force them to defend.
โI also told them not to be intimidated by Chelseaโs reputation or the money theyโve spent. A team can spend hundreds of millions and still have weaknesses. Our job was to identify those weaknesses and punish them.
โThen I spoke about the midfield. Henderson has experience, but football is played at a high intensity. I wanted us to move the ball quickly, make him chase the game and expose any spaces that appeared. We werenโt going there to admire Chelseaโs players. We were going there to beat them.
โAnd thatโs exactly what happened. We played with confidence, took the game to them and showed that a proper tactical plan can cause problems for even the most expensive squads.โ
Reporter: Some Chelsea fans will say youโre disrespecting their club. Do you believe Tottenham are a bigger club than Chelsea?
Roberto De Zerbi: ๐ฃ๏ธ โChelsea fans need to stop confusing spending money with being a superior football club. They have invested enormous amounts in players, but that doesnโt mean every opponent should be frightened of them.
โToday, Tottenham came here and won 2โ0. We didnโt need to spend more than Chelsea to show that we could outplay them. We needed a plan, discipline and players who believed in what they were doing.
โIf Chelsea want to call themselves a bigger club, thatโs their business. But they cannot expect everyone to bow down to them because of their transfer fees. You prove your quality on the pitch, not in the transfer market.
โAnd Iโm sure Arsenal fans enjoyed watching Chelsea struggle today. For all the arguments about squad value and ambition, Tottenham showed that Chelsea can be exposed when an opponent has the courage to attack them.
โLet Chelsea fans complain if they want. The result is 2โ0, and they have to live with it.โ
๐จ๐๏ธ Jordan Pickford after Evertonโs 2โ0 defeat to Arsenal: โIf that was the other way around, VAR would have been checking it for 10 minutes! Arsenal get away with a lot at corners!โ
๐ฃ๏ธ Jordan Pickford: โHonestly, Iโm disappointed with what happened today. Congratulations to Arsenal for winning the game, but letโs not pretend there werenโt incidents that deserve serious questions.
โLook at that corner situation. Iโm the goalkeeper, Iโm trying to get into position and do my job, and Iโm being blocked from moving freely. How am I supposed to come out and claim the ball when someone is stopping me from getting to where I need to be? For me, thatโs a foul. If a goalkeeper canโt move freely to challenge for the ball, what exactly are the rules?
โAnd the frustrating thing is that these situations keep happening. Attackers crowd the goalkeeper, hold their position, make contact and then everyone acts as if itโs perfectly normal. But imagine if I did the same thing to an Arsenal player in the opposite penalty area. Would the referee be so relaxed about it?
โThen you look at the other decisions during the game. There were moments when players went down under contact and wanted free-kicks, and there was the Eberechi Eze incident where he went to ground but no foul was given. The referee had decisions to make throughout the match, and Everton certainly wonโt feel every decision went our way.
โIโm not saying Arsenal didnโt play well. They had possession, created chances and took their opportunities. But playing well doesnโt mean every decision should go your way, and winning 2โ0 doesnโt mean people should stop questioning what happened.
Reporter: Do you think Arsenal are getting special treatment from referees?
Jordan Pickford: ๐ฃ๏ธ โIโll let people make up their own minds. What I do know is that when Arsenal score from set pieces, people praise their organisation and physicality. When other teams try the same things, suddenly everyone starts talking about fouls and pushing.
โThatโs what frustrates me. You cannot have one standard for one team and another standard for everybody else. If blocking a goalkeeper is allowed, then be consistent. If itโs a foul, give the foul. Itโs that simple.
โArsenal fans will celebrate because theyโve won, and theyโre entitled to that. But donโt tell me there was nothing controversial about this game. Winning the match doesnโt automatically make every decision correct.
โToday itโs Everton. Tomorrow it could be another team. All weโre asking for is consistency. If the same thing happened to David Raya, I would like to see whether Arsenal supporters would be telling everyone to stop complaining.โ
Hincapie decided to join immediately after this Game

๐ฃ๏ธ MIKEL ARTETA: โHeโs not changing gear? Iโm happy he can drive.โ ๐
๐๏ธ REPORTER: Moving on to Sakaโs injury, can you give us an update? How serious is the situation?
๐ฃ๏ธ MIKEL ARTETA: โHe had another MRI this afternoon because he had quite a lot of fluid in the area, so it was difficult to understand the extent of the injury.
โWe will know more probably tomorrow. We need a few more scans and opinions from the specialist.
โObviously, when a player has to walk off the pitch, heโs struggling to walk without any pain, and heโs restricted in his movement, they are not good signs.โ
