Can you trade on a NEAR launchpad without a NEAR account?
I tested @justhootfun Intents with three wallets from three ecosystems: OKX (EVM), Phantom (Solana) and HOT (NEAR).
Same idea each time:
• connect wallet
• buy a token
• sell it back
• withdraw to my own wallet
What I noticed:
➤ With EVM and Solana I traded a NEAR launchpad without setting up anything on NEAR
➤ There are no withdrawal fees. JustHoot pays your gas fees.
➤ The trading fee is just 1%.
➤ The flow felt too smooth. no complex setup.

Really glad we got to make this happen in Patna
We had some good conversations around @CronosNetwork , @UltApp and Web3 in general. I also got the chance to share my thoughts and hear different perspectives from people who came along.
What I liked most was getting to meet people in person, especially those who are usually just a profile or a username online. Everyone came from a different background, but we all got to sit together, exchange ideas and learn something new
It was a good experience overall. Hopefully, we get to do more meetups like this in Patna. 🤝

This is craazy. I asked one of our PhD engineers to look into NEAR *Confidential* Intents wondering how they designed their system. Unredacted, word-for-word, this was his answer 😱😱😱
"Everything I found out about the privacy claims and confidential intents is so bad that it seems almost comical and I cannot believe what I am seeing. Apparently they run a completely separate instance of the protocol, which is called FAR (as an opposite to NEAR), and that has a permissioned operator set. The entire confidentiality claim seems to rest upon the fact that it is a permissioned chain and the nodes are trusted to keep things private, there doesn't seem to be any deep technology behind it and it also does not seem to be open source. The entities running the nodes are also not publicly known.
I almost feel weird writing this because it is so absurdly bad that it feels like ... I don't know ... a simulation? I know the usual level of overpromising in Web3 but this is so many levels beyond believable that it still feels unreal."

Bitwise says NEAR could hit 70 dollars. I think that's too high. Solana did about 25x from its FTX low, and the same run takes NEAR from about 1 dollar to 20 to 25. That's where I'd be fully out.

one more 3x like the last one puts NEAR next to ZEC.
and the last one wasn't just a chart. since august NEAR Intents crossed $30b in all-time volume, near(.)com added tokenized US stocks, traded confidentially by default, and Bitwise launched the first US spot NEAR ETF.
a 3x on vibes is a pump. a 3x with all that underneath is a repricing.

i think NEAR is next for meme season, and i'm not the only one seeing it.
it all looks like Robinhood Chain's first weeks:
> a "serious" chain (tokenized stocks there, AI and Intents here), and memes showed up anyway
> new launchpads fighting over degens
> no bridging, people ape straight from the wallets they already have
in late July people were asking if Robinhood's meme season was already over. by September Robinhood Chain was #2 by daily DEX volume, behind only Solana. NEAR is in its July right now.
every meme season crowns a launchpad. Robinhood's was Pons: ~80% of its revenue buys back and burns $PONS, and the token did ~180x in seven weeks.
NEAR's can be @justhootfun . same play: 80% of platform revenue goes back to $HOOT. it's built by the team behind @MeteorWallet, and anyone with MetaMask or Phantom can buy its memes in ~10 seconds.
