Stuff nobody asked me about #384 - 72 Hours with the #apple iPhone Duo. Three Pros. Three Cons.
I've had the Duo for three days now. Here's what I've noticed beyond the usual camera, battery, and lack of screen-crease talk.
THE GOOD
1. **It's about choice.** The best feature isn't the bigger screen. It's deciding when I want a regular phone and when I want something larger. Two different experiences in one device.
2. **Shorter is better.** After years of increasingly tall phones, the Duo's shorter form factor is refreshing. Wider, yes. But surprisingly comfortable.
3. **iPad just became even less necessary.** Reading articles, reviewing documents, and browsing on the bigger screen is genuinely useful. Especially when traveling.
THE NOT SO GOOD
1. **This thing needs grip.** The wider form factor makes it harder to hold securely. I'm thinking a Latercase or something similar could make a huge difference. Apple made it thin. Now I need to wrap something around it to keep from dropping it.
2. **Bigger screens expose bad apps.** Some apps look fantastic. Others apparently just took their existing app, stretched it, and called it innovation. This will change over time.
3. **Every task requires a decision.** Open it or leave it closed? I somehow bought a phone that requires a management decision before I can check email.
**72-hour verdict:** I'm enjoying it more than I expected. It's the first iPhone in years that has actually changed how I use my phone...a lot.
Still early. Still experimenting. And still trying not to drop it during my 14-day 'trial' period.
Do we keep it? We will see...

It's 6 AM, and I've already opened the refrigerator twice. Apparently, I think the inventory changes overnight.
Britain has random 'Cake Sheds,' and all we got is some dude selling boiled peanuts? This is B**Sh**!
Overheard in a coffee shop...I'm not saying it will happen; I'm just saying, Hydroponically speaking, it could happen."
#WeAreDoomed.
I was looking for a coffee roaster...not this one...I'm skipping this one based on the manufacturer's name alone. I feel like I have been warned.
People keep telling us this is an opportunity for a fresh start...I was perfectly happy with my old start. It had furniture...and cool stuff. #Watergate 2026
Europe vacation: 10/10.
Food: 10/10.
Wine: 10/10.
Coming home to 50,000 gallons of water damage: 0/10.
9 damaged rooms. 3 humidors. Unlimited personal items. One ceiling that decided gravity was more of a suggestion.
Would absolutely recommend Europe. Would not recommend the complimentary indoor swimming pool. Zero Stars.
PSA: Turn off your water before leaving town.
I’m not even through security and I’ve already gone through my emergency Snickers bar. #ReweyAirportPhoto #AlwaysBlackAndWhite.
Heading home from Madrid. The suitcase is overweight. Wallet is underweight. Cholesterol is currently negotiating dual citizenship.
Last day in Madrid. I've eaten enough jamón to be considered a threat to the Spanish pork industry. I regret nothing.

I don’t understand people who say, “I forgot to eat.”
I’ve forgotten passwords and appointments. Lunch has never slipped my mind.
Apparently, Thursday I’m going to Iberian ham training.
After decades of wandering aimlessly through life, I’ve finally found a subject where I feel academically gifted.
Please respect me during this important educational journey.
