Being a lawyer is basically having a to-do list and then spending the whole day doing things that were not on the to-do list.

Nothing funnier than a judge denying your motion to continue, giving you a whole speech about "no more delays," and then putting you 67th on the trial docket. See you two hurricane seasons from now, your honor.

Before I could stop her, my wife jumped on my laptop and closed my 97 emotional support Westlaw tabs. Some people have a therapy dog. I have 14 tabs on the economic loss rule and a case from 2016 that now seems ancient (when I graduated from law school) and is making me feel old AF.

My favorite cases are fraud cases. Nothing gets me going like a guy with a fake Rolex, leased lambo, three LLCs registered to a UPS Store, and a "passive income mentorship program." Always 120k followers on their social media and 50 likes on each post. You also get to meet the worst people in Florida, and I say that knowing what Florida is.

A person representing themselves in court hid a prompt injection attack in a filing asking an AI system to side with them. Really good stuff here

Commercial litigation tip #1: don't let your client chase opposing counsel out of the deposition, badger them into the elevator, ride down still badgering them, record the whole thing, and post it online. Follow me for more legal tips!
