Instead of going token by token, DiffusionGemma refines a 256-token block at once.
I tested it and Gemma 4 on 10 tasks:
• Did better on copy editing & upfront counts
• Missed on valid JSON & multi-step reasoning
• Slower on my Mac, much faster on a GPU

Framework Highlight: LiteRT ⚡️
The Google Gemma Hardware Hackathon @ AGI House.
Great models need a framework that brings them to your device. Meet LiteRT, Google’s framework for high-performance on-device AI.
At the hackathon, explore how LiteRT can help you turn a Gemma-powered idea into a working local application:
• Run Gemma with LiteRT-LM across edge platforms: developers.google.com/edge/l…
• Ready-to-use models for high-performance on-device deployment: huggingface.co/litert-commun…
• Explore hardware acceleration on supported devices: developers.google.com/edge/l…
From offline assistants to intelligent edge devices—what will you build?
🎁Best Use of LiteRT: $15,000
Sponsored by Google AI Edge, this award is part of the event’s $45,000 cash prize pool, alongside partner hardware awards.
Join 100 selected builders, the @GoogleDeepMind Gemma team, and hardware partners for a full day of hands-on building. Every project must use a Gemma-based model and run entirely on-device.

What if Spotlight actually understood the meaning inside your files?
DigUp is an open-source macOS menu bar app powered by EmbeddingGemma 2 that brings 100% local, multimodal semantic search to your Mac.
Instead of searching for file names, you can use natural language to:
📸 Find specific scenes in your photos
⏳ Jump to the exact timestamp in audio or video
💻 Search through your codebase by intent
Everything runs locally in a single vector space.

Cloudflare's Markdown for Agents turns a website's own HTML into Markdown whenever AI agents ask for text/markdown, and since October 9 it converts the page as it arrives.
The agent adds text/markdown to its Accept header, and Cloudflare fetches the original HTML from the origin and converts it before serving it.
Headers, footers, navigation, scripts and styles are stripped before the conversion.
The frontmatter carries title, description and image from the meta tags, and JSON-LD is kept as a block at the end.
The site owner turns it on in the dashboard, at no cost on Pro, Business and Enterprise plans.
Without its own content-signal header, a site sends a default that allows AI training, search and AI input.
The update raises the limit from 2 to 6 MiB of HTML and drops the token count headers, so clients count tokens themselves now.

Introducing Open EmbeddingGemma 2
I built a single-file PyTorch implementation of EmbeddingGemma 2 because there was no GitHub repository, published paper, or technical report to reference.
It's an impressive model for its size, and I wanted to make it easier for others to understand how it works and how to train it for their own applications.

📢 PSA for open-source bug hunters
We are temporarily no longer accepting OSS VRP product vulnerability submissions. This does not impact OSS VRP supply chain reports, or any outstanding reports. As an alternative, we encourage you to find impact across our other VRP programs and submit there instead, or pursue the Patch Rewards Program.
Why is this happening? This pause is due to a significant rise in automated submissions, the vast majority of which are not valid. We will continue to reformat and work on this aspect of the OSS VRP and commit to giving an update in Q1 2027.
