Not sure what career you want after university? Start with what you already know about yourself. What are you good at? What do you enjoy? What motivates you? What kind of environment suits you? Career clarity makes everything that follows easier. 🎯

Graduated months ago and starting to feel behind? Careers don't run to a university timetable. Some graduates secure jobs immediately. Others take months to find the right direction and opportunity. Keep improving your approach. Don't compare your timeline with someone else's.

Applied for dozens of graduate jobs and heard nothing? Before sending another application, ask: Would I shortlist myself based on this CV? Generic applications are easy to spot. Tailor your CV around the skills and evidence each employer is actually asking for.
6
LinkedIn isn't just somewhere to upload your CV. Follow employers. Connect with people in your industry. Comment on relevant posts. Share what you're learning. Build your professional presence before you desperately need it.
7
One of the best things you can do before a graduate interview? Practise out loud. Thinking through an answer isn't the same as actually saying it. Record yourself answering common questions. You'll quickly notice where you're rambling, hesitating or underselling yourself.
7
Your first graduate job doesn't need to be your dream job. Look for opportunities that give you: → Transferable skills → Responsibility → Good training → Useful connections → Evidence for your CV Your first role is the beginning of your career, not the final destination.

Parents of graduates 👇 If your son or daughter is struggling to find their first #graduate job, encourage them to identify where they're getting stuck. No interviews? Look at the CV/application. Interviews but no offers? Work on interview technique. Find the problem fist.
12
Your degree gets you into the conversation. Your evidence helps you get the #job. Employers want examples of when you’ve communicated well, solved problems, worked in a team and taken initiative. Start building your bank of examples before your next #interview.

Graduate #interview coming up? Research more than the company homepage. Know: ✓ What the company does ✓ Its competitors ✓ Recent developments ✓ The role ✓ Why YOU want to work there “Why us?” shouldn’t catch you off guard.

🎓 Still looking for a graduate job? Don’t measure your progress purely by applications sent. Track: → Interviews secured → CV improvements → New skills gained → Connections made → Feedback received A better strategy beats simply applying for more jobs. #graduatecoach

Your first graduate job doesn't have to map out the next 40 years. It needs to give you somewhere to start. Build skills. Gain experience. Learn what you're good at. Discover what you don't enjoy. Careers develop – they don't have to arrive fully formed.
9
One question every graduate should be able to answer: “Why do you want this job?” Not because it’s a graduate scheme. Not because the company is successful. Why THIS role, at THIS company, and why does it make sense for YOU?
4
September ending without the graduate job you hoped for? Make October about changing the strategy – not just increasing the application count. Career direction. CV. Experience. Interview technique. Find the weak point and work on it. 🎯
12
Parents: supporting a graduate through a long job search can be difficult. Encourage progress rather than constantly asking, “Any interviews yet?” Improving a CV, practising an interview or identifying better-suited roles are all meaningful steps forward.
8
Applied for 50 graduate jobs without an interview? Before applying for another 50, stop and investigate why. Wrong roles? Generic CV? Weak examples? Not enough experience? More applications won’t necessarily fix the underlying problem.
7
No experience? Start creating some. Volunteer. Freelance. Take an internship. Build a project. Help a small business. Your degree shows what you’ve learned. Experience gives employers evidence of what you can actually do.
9
Graduate interview tip 👇 Don’t memorise perfect answers word-for-word. Prepare strong examples, understand what the employer wants and practise explaining your experiences naturally. You want to sound prepared – not scripted.
6
Parents of graduates: if your son or daughter has been job hunting for months, sending MORE applications might not be the answer. Find the sticking point first: career direction, CV, experience, applications or interviews. Then work on that.
