The house which I live in, in Old Town Hastings. Built 1648. (I’ve had it tree ring dated.) Tourists peer in the windows. Has resident death watch beetle. Jolly cold in winter as there’s not a whole lot of insulation. I love it!
With the Hastings-London line closure I’ve caught a rammed and delayed Marshlink Hastings-Rye. Connection at Ashford missed. Even later train doubtful.
What are the failure criteria for the pedestrianised Oxford Street? The problems are top end of expectations and seem well beyond teething troubles. The solution is roll back to the previous system which worked.
Parcel Force @parcelforce tell me they have delivered a parcel and give this photo of some flower pots in my street. It seems all but impossible to speak with them to find a solution.
This statue is in the courtyard of Burlington House. The notice says it’s a self portrait of the artist.
The Oxford Street pedestrianisation is in place. The Mayor plastering his name over it is a boast of a type that isn’t British.
Götterdämmerung @rbo_org is completely sold out. I do have a ticket but was hoping I might find a better one.

I’ve attended this afternoon a Bloomsbury Festival lecture “The Architecture of Bloomsbury” by Alec Forshaw. Well paced and informative!
The Seafarer @GreenwichTheatr this evening was in the okay category. It had its moments but could have been compressed into an hour.
Tickets for Götterdämmerung @rbo_org went on sale 9am and all performances are now pretty much a sell out. I’ve got a standing position. This Wagner is only 6hrs 10m.
An 1852 Indenture relating to 35 All Saints Street Hastings. This is the house immediately opposite mine (121).
