I will defend Kappa Mikey a bit i dont think it was made with contempt unlike other anime parodies it had some "deep cut" references that went beyond Akira Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball like other cartoon anime parodies there were clearly Otaku on Kappa Mikeys staff

Kappa Mikey is a weird show because in my head it's this under-the-radar classic that most people just never had the chance to see, but every time i try to rewatch it i'm like "huh so this might just be really racist"
