This study found that in a clinic-based cohort of patients with SCC or MCI, blood biomarkers may be good hallmarks of underlying pathology, but added little to 5-year dementia risk prediction models. Read the full study here: hubs.la/Q04BV2Kd0

Spinal cord involvement in histiocytic neoplasms is underrecognized, and it's often how the disease first shows up.
With effective MAPK-targeted therapies (BRAF/MEK) available, early diagnosis matters.
In @GreenJournal, we studied 415 patients with ECD, LCH and RDD from the @MayoClinic cohort:
🔹 10% had spinal cord or nerve root involvement
🔹 In 1 of every 2 symptomatic patients, it was the FIRST sign of the disease
🔹 ECD → mainly cord infiltration; RDD → mainly nerve roots or extrinsic compression
🔹 Improvement after treatment: RDD 91%, LCH 67%, ECD only 46%
👉 Think spinal MRI early in patients with neurologic symptoms or high-risk features.
