Scientists are notoriously conservative in their conclusions. Climate change could be contributing much more to extreme weather than the ongoing attribution studies show. More from @MichaelEMann et al.👇👇👇
the "real time attribution" studies you're reading about likely UNDERESTIMATE the impact climate change is having on summer weather extremes (see here: science.org/doi/10.1126/scia…)
So when they report it e.g. doubled the likelihood of an event, it might have increased it much more.
