The Green Party flipped a seat in Hawaii. Kiakhona will be the first Green Party candidate elected to Hawai’i State Legislature.
🌻 HISTORIC GREEN VICTORY! Pāʻele Kiakona has been elected to represent District 14 in the Hawaiʻi House of Representatives — making history as the first Green elected to the Hawaiʻi State Legislature and the first Green elected to a state legislature in the U.S. since 2012!

Just imagine. If we had Ranked Choice Voting, every election would be a chance to vote FOR what you love, rather than AGAINST what you hate. Thanks, @samhusseini for bringing us one step closer!

Young, proud, native & Green, Pāʻele Kiakona draws on Indigenous wisdom to restore the health of land & community together, with the support of major unions. Now he'll continue this work as Lahaina's new representative to the Hawaii legislature. Congratulations, Pāʻele! civilbeat.org/2026/11/hawaii…

It looks like the Green Party has flipped a state legislative seat in Hawaii! It comes in #HD14, a Harris+16 seat covering the Lahaina area. Pāʻele Kiakona was a major activist during the wildfires there and won major union support for his campaign. He beat a Democrat and the Democrat-turned-Republican incumbent (who only got less than 20% of the vote)

As I go to sleep tonight we have the highest number of votes for a third party since reconstruction and the highest percentage since 1899. The percentage can change but the count won’t. I feel good and exhausted. More later

#MichiganSenate Undecided voter in Michigan says he is voting for Mike Rogers because he doesn’t want Abdul El-Sayed to win by a lot “I have this hope that the outcome in Michigan will be that Benson wins by eight points, El-Sayed wins by two or three, and perhaps the future of the Democratic Party won't go down the tubes the way it did for the Republicans.”

When the tent of your socialist organization is so big that capitalists can be members
Is L.A. mayoral candidate Nithya Raman a capitalist? "I'm a capitalist and I'm also a Democratic Socialist...we need to make sure capitalism works without harm to workers... to poor people." She says the DSA is a "big tent" but she disagrees with members who call to abolish police, prisons and the Senate. Interview via @InsidePolitics on @CNN

Greens have to run Presidential candidates every 4 years for ballot access
Because the green party is a grift, they show up every 4 years trying to get federal matching funds for their little inner-circle but do basically nothing in between those Presidential campaigns. Zero congressional seats, Zero Senators, Zero state legislators. Embarrassing.

WHEN CONDEMNING ATROCITIES BECOMES EXTREMISM Imagine being called an extremist by those who defend the mass killing of civilians, the starvation of families, and the killing of children in Gaza. When did condemning atrocities become extremism, while defending them became acceptable? The moral double standard is staggering.

"For decades, we’ve been told ICE can be fixed with more oversight, better training, or reform. But you can’t reform an agency whose purpose is to terrorize immigrant families. You can’t train cruelty out of a system built to enact cruelty. ICE must be abolished."
Yesterday, an ICE agent opened fire in Marble Hill. They shot a member of our community in the neck while he was in his car. His five-year-old kid was in a child seat in the back of the car when ICE agents fired at least 7 rounds into it. This was in the middle of the afternoon, with children walking home from school and people heading home from work. Federal agents put every one of them in danger. When I was in Marble Hill last night I saw NYPD officers rapidly escalating violence. As I was trying to de-escalate, I was shoved to the ground by an officer. I witnessed unmarked law enforcement cars hitting protestors as NYPD officers pushed people out of its path. And instead of condemning ICE’s violence, Police Commissioner Tisch attempted to justify the shooting by reading off our neighbor’s past interactions with police. The NYPD spent more time protecting a militia that just shot someone than protecting New Yorkers. Last night, the NYPD and Commissioner Tisch violated the spirit, if not the letter, of our sanctuary city policies and fueled the Trump Administration’s attempt to demonize our communities. The NYPD’s Strategic Response Group must be disbanded as quickly as possible, and Commissioner Tisch must step down. In this district, there are mothers who are afraid to send their kids to school, workers who are afraid to show up for their shifts, and people who won’t call for help anymore because they can’t be sure who will come. That’s what it means to have a violent militia operating in your community. You don’t feel safe walking down your own street.  For decades, we’ve been told ICE can be fixed with more oversight, better training, or reform. But you can’t reform an agency whose purpose is to terrorize immigrant families. You can’t train cruelty out of a system built to enact cruelty. ICE must be abolished. This moment demands that everyone step up. Elected officials at every level need to stop hedging and say it plainly: Abolish ICE now. Our city must enforce every sanctuary protection we have and city officials must ensure this cannot happen again.
