I’ll listen to a lot of arguments for why UTSA should be ranked or why I’m wrong, but “you don’t watch the Roadrunners” is probably not your best angle.
The web of tangled and contradictory head-to-head results grows more complicated each week, creating a messy picture for the AP Top 25 to sort through. My take on which wins were impossible to avoid, and which could be bypassed as part of a larger case:

UTSA is No. 59 in SP+ and No. 62 in adj. EPA/play. They faced one P4 opponent and the game wasn't competitive. Tulane was the first FBS game they didn’t have to sweat to the very end. I have UTSA No. 31 and even that feels generous. But they'll move up if they keep winning.
