23 years passed between Daniel chapter 4 and 5.
I hope we're as impressed with Daniel's quiet faithfulness as we are with his bold courage.

The book of Daniel teaches a twofold principle:
1. Be faithful.
2. Results may vary.
Sometimes faithfulness leads to favor and other times it leads to the furnace. Either way, God is accomplishing his purposes.

“When I was young, I admired intelligent people. Now that I am old, I admire kind people” Abraham Herschel
We often praise people who are successful, creative, or educated. But what about their character?
In these times, we need to receive and reflect the kindness of Christ.

It’s more important to fulfill your calling than your potential.
You won’t give an account to God for what you could have done, but you will for what you were called to do.

It’s almost Sunday. If you’re physically able, please plan on gathering with your local church.
“The church is a people, not a place.”
Yes absolutely, but for thousands of years, the people of God have always gathered—consistently, inconveniently—in a place.
You can watch online and get some good content. Good content is informative but in isolation, it struggles to be transformative. Transformation requires presence and participation most of the time.
So discard comfort and convenience and show up. And show up again. And again. Hope to see you Sunday.
