I’m sure that all the children whose school lives are blighted by disruption, bullying, violence and abuse will be comforted to know that somewhere, an academic has commissioned a knitted blanket in support of the ones disrupting, bullying, being violent and abusive.

There are a few bits in this article that worry me:
1. A student who has 'grabbed a teachers arm' (presumably forcefully) ends up listening to a teacher read a book to them for 10 minutes as the sanction?
2. Students say "Teachers can be your friend here"
Reasons they worry me:
Any form of assault needs absolutely strong and robust response (see my recent poll where 50%+ teachers said they'd been assaulted)
Teachers shouldn't be mates with the students - just my view. There's so many reasons I think this, too much to say here.

Heard an interesting comment on teacher wellbeing this evening.
“You don’t realise you were so unwell until you feel better. Then you’re in shock at how you didn’t know at the time.”
It’s so sad that it’s probably so true.

Telephone and internet communications with #Gaza appear to have been shut off. We are currently unable to get in touch with any of our colleagues there, while heavy bombardment has been reported.
⚠ Confirmed: Live network data show a collapse in connectivity in the #Gaza Strip with high impact to Paltel, amid reports of heavy bombardment; the company is the last remaining major operator to supply service as connectivity declines amid ongoing fighting with Israel 📉

They work with a sanction only. Teachers actually complained to the union of their inefficacy- yet somehow these are still being propagated:

What’s with all the parents and teacher who think that professionally qualified teachers shouldn’t be allowed to do the things their kids aren’t allowed to do? Teachers shouldn’t drink coffee, eat confectionery, wear clothes or shoes the children don’t wear. Enough of the madness

The #EhlersDanlos Syndromes are not rare, just rarely diagnosed.
I will die on this hill.
It doesn't matter that * some forms * are extremely rare.
The collection as a whole is not.
Calling it rare is a self-perpetuating meme and confirmation bias. #EDS #hEDS #RareDiseaseDay
