In the latest installment of the Jane Doe rape extravaganza, the Cornell Faculty Senate on Friday censured the school administration for its inability to “address the ongoing crisis of sexual assault at Cornell University.” The vote was preceded by group letters to the campus newspaper from female faculty, who congratulated themselves on their bravery in standing up to a “repressive, misogynistic culture” and for refusing to be “silenced”—as if anyone would dare essay such a humanitarian act. According to another female faculty letter, the administration had failed to place student “safety” front and center. Cornell’s brave sisters would never dream of fighting for measures that actually would advance female safety, however—above all, for the long-term confinement and incarceration of criminals and the mentally ill. On October 30, 28-year-old Katie Suarez was fatally stabbed in the neck while running on the Brooklyn, NY, waterfront. Her alleged killer, Sayed Mohassib, a public-school paraprofessional (a fancy term for someone who is otherwise unemployable), had threatened in 2024 to chop up his mother and sister. In 2023, police took Mohassib to Bellevue Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation in light of his erratic behavior and disheveled appearance. Suarez’s murder followed a string of gruesome assaults on females by mentally ill criminals who are released back to the streets again and again. Iryna Zarutska was fatally stabbed in the neck on a Charlotte subway by longtime felon and schizophrenic Decarlos Dejuan Brown Jr. in August 2025, and Bethany MaGee was doused with gasoline and set on fire in the Chicago subway in November 2025 by Lawrence Reed, a mentally ill arsonist with 72 prior arrests, to name just a few of such overdetermined attacks. Females are not the only victims of these known criminal risks, of course; males have been pushed into onrushing subways and bludgeoned to death by equally predictable killers-in-waiting. But don’t expect Doe’s feminist avengers to say a peep in favor of stricter incarceration and institutionalization policies, since doing so would have a disparate impact on minority criminals and schizophrenics, above all, on blacks. Avoiding disparate impact has been the guiding principle of the criminal justice system for decades, and it has resulted in foreseeable and thus preventable tragedies. Katie Suarez, Iryna Zarutska, and Bethany MaGee had no way to protect themselves; they relied on government authorities to fulfill their paramount duty of protecting public safety. Jane Doe, by contrast, had numerous opportunities to avoid what is being called her group rape by exercising basic common sense and personal responsibility. Progressives infantilize a certain category of females and treat them as victims of rape culture, while ignoring actual victims who had and will have the misfortune of being targeted by the wrong sort of attacker. Speaking up about the latter travesty would take, in the current political climate, a certain degree of bravery, something that our academic feminists only pretend to possess.
