Why don't you come downstairs and tell me this to my face, OK?!
I love you all but sometimes I get the feeling that a few too many of the people using social media are just DRUNK and/or overly emotional. That, or your grammar skills really are just wanting.

There are people in this thread arguing that being able to read Shakespeare is unnecessary... in the study of literature.
I would have almost no idea how to write the second essay, especially as a teenager, because the quote does not really mean anything.

The “Prima Ballerina” fountain is located in Kościuszko Square in the town of Poddębice, Poland. This extraordinary work of art was created by sculptor Małgorzata Chodakowska, who is renowned for combining bronze and water as equally important artistic materials. The installation features three slender ballerina figures, with water flowing from their waists to form delicate, flowing skirts that appear to billow gracefully in the breeze.

I was usually the ONLY WOMAN in my convoy in Afghanistan. Not only was I a military police team leader, I was the one who searched the Afghan women. Those women told me things their husbands never would. They also told me things they wouldn't tell their husbands. They let me hold their babies and talk to their kids. These women had NO voice in that country. No rights. They were men's property. 40 months in a Muslim country taught me this: Sharia doesn't "coexist." It TAKES. And here in the USA, it will take from women FIRST. Ladies, it starts with your voice. DO NOT hand it over. It wasn't very long ago at all that we fought for and WON our freedom here in America. We owe it to our daughters not to go backwards. 🇺🇸🪖

I'm mostly just surprised Salon has only been around 30 years, I legit thought it was one of those old magazines everybody pretends is important but nobody actually reads, like The Atlantic or Vanity Fair
I was planning to I save this banger until Christmas but I guess this means I have to use it early.

People keep arguing about this - it's not the war, per se. Americans by and large dont GAF if we bomb some shitheads on the other side of the world. Literally every president does it, every year. We'll cheer it, make t-shirts and shit, so long as it doesn't actually affect us.
It’s not the war, it’s the cease-fire.

But the downstream effects - most noticeably gas prices - along with the obvious lack of a coherent plan and gaslighting that it's all 4D chess - that we've already won, or are winning, or will win (whatever that even means at this point) is too much.

We were sold a short-ish timeframe, long range campaign, now we're staring down eight months of no resolution, economic pain, and the looming nightmare spectacle of escalation. Taken together it makes the admin look confused, weak, and out of touch.

The path back to victory for the right is to be normal and win back the “just want to grill” constituency. This is why out of all American right wing political figures of the past few years my favourite to emerge is @spencerpratt. He was just a normal guy who had his life destroyed by corrupt and insane far-left politics. He just wants normal things, like not having insane mentally ill zombies running around in public torturing dogs, camping next to schools, defecating in public, lighting people on fire, etc. He just wants sound public administration rather than billions incinerated in NGO fraud. The side that is more “normal” wins. People don’t want scary chuds posting about turning America into a dictatorship, crossing the Rubicon, killing enemies, etc. You have to be normal. Democrat policies on crime and immigration and nationhood are not normal. The de facto outcome of their policies is having mentally insane hobos torturing dogs, camping next to schools, defecating in public, lighting people on fire. So it should be easy to be normal than them. They won this time because their candidates had perfect message discipline, like Messi-level performances. Talarico previously called God non-binary and said that white skin was a virus. He didn’t talk like that to win Texas. He presented himself as normal. They had perfect message discipline, but if you look at their histories, a lot of their leading candidates said psycho and insane stuff just 4 or 5 years ago. You have to be normal-maxing. Exit polls show that Republicans still have a commanding lead with voters on issues like crime and immigration. These are the two issues to focus on. Deliver results with competence. Instead of posting scary memes on the Department of Homeland Twitter page and prioritising high visibility raids, do smart policy like focusing on the employers who use illegal immigrant labour. Just normal-max and competency-max. Stop saying crazy things like conquering Greenland etc. Normalcy max and competency max. Ban all insider trading and stock trading when it comes to Congress and the executive branch. Zero tolerance for petty corruption and be normal and don’t freak people out. Abdul El-Sayed had to say over and over again that he was a capitalist to win. So anti-communism is still popular. Nationhood and public order and safety are still popular. I post about Lee Kuan Yew because he did competent, high IQ, high human capital Actually Existing Rightism. A kind of “Dark Abundance” which mixes together the Ezra Klein vision of Abundance (completely dead on arrival in today’s Democratic Party) with knuckleduster approach to crime and anarchy and riots and chaos. Zero tolerance for corruption, zero tolerance for crime, strong emphasis on public safety and order, massive emphasis on national unity and assimilation within a multi-ethnic society. It worked. The model works and anybody can pick it up and run with it if you are smart.

Remarkable chart. Especially makes sense considering high gas prices make everything else more expensive - if it moves on a truck, train, plane or boat it's more expensive to get to market.
Pundits on both sides: “Voters punished Trump for his broken promises, his memecoin, ICE, his authoritarian tendencies, his betrayal of MAGA’s ideals, his erosion of democratic norms, and his rejection of the rules-based international order.” Voters: “Too expensive to drive car to burger.”

The reason most Americans keep getting poorer is that neither party will stop the runaway deficit spending that leads the Fed to create inflation. Frustrated voters blame incumbent presidents for rising prices that keep going higher no matter which party occupies the White House.

Voters agreed with Republicans on every policy at issue and then voted Democrat lmao
Voter ID, caps on property taxes, and lowering income tax rates all winning 60-40 in NC…in an electorate that’s voting 60-40 for the Democrat for Senate

My son just went to bed. He wanted to know if our candidates were winning. I said, “Not many, Bud.” But then I told him that this is how elections go. If we lose, we learn from it and work harder. What I absolutely won’t do is make my son hysterical or anxiety ridden about a political loss. At the end of the day, politics is not our religion, and we vote again in two years.

I really like Hayes - fiscally sane, smart priorities. Practically the inverse of Lee. He'd be a 1000% upgrade for PA and Congress in that seat.
🇺🇸🗳️ PA-12, YOUR VOICE MATTERS! Are you satisfied with Summer Lee's representation in Congress? Today, voters can weigh her record against James Hayes' priorities for Western PA: jobs, energy, affordability, and public safety. ⏰ Polls close at 8 PM! 📍 Find your polling place: pavoterservices.pa.gov/Pages… #ElectionDay #PA12 #JamesHayesForPA

Important note about election integrity from the super competent federal government. We should really just put these guys in charge of everything, what could go wrong

Normalise saying “this is really fucking weird, but I don’t think it should be banned”. True liberalism needs to make a comeback.
