Damn.
Martin Landaluce was so close to a massive win. What a match from the kid. Tough but these sorts of matches should only make him better. Hope he get the alt spot, along with Merida at Davis Cup. Spain really has a cool new crop coming in.
Had a sneaky feeling this all American match between Ben Shelton and Alek Kovacevic was going to be tricky. 👀
Completely lived up to the billing.
No upset here but damn that was a fun match. Carlos Alcaraz has a winning return to Vienna.
I do find Carlos Alcaraz extremely fun to watch because sir how did we get here 😅
Anyway let’s see how this tiebreak goes 👀
Nicely done.
Rafa Jodar keeps his name in the mix for Turin with a fairly routine win against Tabilo.
Now off to watch the popcorn match of the day 👀🍿
The drama around Davis Cup alone should get people watching (I am looking at you Team Italy). And while it features top players like Carlos Alvaraz, an episode of Jeopardy from a few months ago says many don’t know much about it, Billie Jean King Cup or other team tournaments. This week on the podcast we are here to help 🔗⬇️
Yes. Short Shorts doing Short Short things.
Does Tomas Machac have the highest ceiling and lowest floor of any other player in the @atptour Top 100?
Lore!
He has been through a lot over the past year with injuries and stops and starts to his return to playing, this has to be the best icing on the cake for Lorenzo Musetti. First title in four years seems like a crime for someone of his talent. Here is hoping he is back to form.
Do you have a player who you just root for, no matter what? That’s Struffy for us. We go all the way back to Madrid 2023. What a match and win against Arthur Fils. Jan-Lennard Struff is back in a final.
Carlos Alcaraz practicing in Vienna to a packed house. Love this. Last time he played Vienna was in 2021. Such a great opportunity for the home fans to watch him live. Small tournaments and open practices for the win.
Just pulled up to watch the all American clash between Fritz and Paul and guys we are eating today:
Medvedev v Bublik (the front row might need helmets)
Cobolli v Musetti (in the who is better looking off)
Fils v Struff (the battle of the faves)
The badass, cool girl confidence Karolina Muchova has to not chase points in Ningbo and Tokyo, to know the work she put in this season was enough and just let the Finals come to her, is why she will always be one of our faves.
