Dr Richard Denniss credits Labor for changing the CGT discount saying it’s a “political winner” & “good economic policy.” Says it’s time to bin Peter Costello’s 27yr old scheme as gifting property investors with tax breaks isn’t working. ‘it’s a failed experiment’🔥 #auspol

Professor Alan Gamlen has called out the media’s nonsense hysteria over “Mass Migration", exposing their cherry picked migration data, & how they conveniently omit departure data in their reporting. ‘The headlines are just simply not true.’💥 #auspol

Bridget McKenzie might want to power down that foghorn of hers lest she be accused of having a rancid case of foot-in-mouth disease. She doesn’t like suggestions that Australia should be looking at electrifying the country’s heavy vehicle fleet. .. and yet, despite her fossil fuel donor loyalties - this will be the direction that the country will undoubtedly take in the near future. Bridge doesn’t think that you can “hook up a B-double full of cattle coming from Rockhampton to Brisbane using an electric truck”. 🙄 ahem.. “It is indeed possible to move cattle, or steel, toilet paper and many other things, on a giant semi with an electric prime mover at the front, and to do it more cheaply and quickly than with diesel. It’s already happening in much of the rest of the world – and now, somewhat belatedly, in this country” The EV revolution is moving onto heavy vehicles at an astonishing pace. All over the world. “Advances in batteries and charging infrastructure are catalysts. New heavy-duty electric trucks can travel 400-500 kilometres on a single charge, making them suitable for many regional freight routes and long-distance corridors” At the same time that McKenzie was delivering her spray - The Smart Energy Council had organised several heavy duty electric trucks to be displayed on the lawns of Parliament House. “One of those trucks displayed on the parliament lawns was a Chinese-made, B-double rated, Windrose prime mover. Over the past six months, Windrose and Australian company New Energy Transport have engaged in a series of trials and demonstrations of the capabilities of electrics. Last October the truck completed a 480-kilometre round trip from Picton, south of Sydney, to Beresfield in the Hunter region on a single charge, with a load of feed provided by Australia’s largest poultry transport, logistics and engineering services provider, Multiquip” “The Windrose produces 1400 horsepower – compared with 500 to 700 from a typical diesel – which enables it to maintain speed, even up steep gradients”. “Because the Windrose was able to sit at the speed limit the whole way, the trip was also 40 minutes faster than it would have been under diesel power. Moreover, the fuel cost was a fraction of the diesel alternative, says Daniel Bleakley, co-founder and co-chief executive of New Energy Transport” The EV and renewable energy industry is thriving. No matter what the fossil fuel industry and their puppets do to malign and invent disinformation campaigns to discredit and disrupt progress. thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news…

Scary stuff. Seems AI isn't all it's cracked up to be.
🦔A researcher invented a fake eye condition called bixonimania, uploaded two obviously fraudulent papers about it to an academic server, and watched major AI systems present it as real medicine within weeks. The fake papers thanked Starfleet Academy, cited funding from the Professor Sideshow Bob Foundation and the University of Fellowship of the Ring, and stated mid-paper that the entire thing was made up. Google's Gemini told users it was caused by blue light. Perplexity cited its prevalence at one in 90,000 people. ChatGPT advised users whether their symptoms matched. The fake research was then cited in a peer-reviewed journal that only retracted it after Nature contacted the publisher. My Take The researcher made the papers as obviously fake as possible on purpose. The AI systems didn't catch it. Neither did the human researchers who cited it in real journals, which means people are feeding AI-generated references into their work without reading what they're actually citing. I've covered the FDA using AI for drug review, the NYC hospital CEO ready to replace radiologists, and ChatGPT Health launching this year. All of that is happening in the same environment where a condition funded by a Simpsons character and endorsed by the crew of the Enterprise was being presented as emerging medical consensus. The people making these deployment decisions seem to believe the pipeline from research to AI to patient is more supervised than it actually is. This experiment suggests it isn't supervised much at all. Hedgie🤗 nature.com/articles/d41586-0…

Liam seems a touch hysterical. If we have learnt anything today, it is that Liam hates EVs, but positively cannot cope with EVs powered by the sun. Steady on, Liam. You’ll pull through.

ALWAYS stale, pale males with heads on them like a boil on shoulders!!
The following has been largely sourced from Sherele Moody, journalist and femicide researcher. Founder of the Red Heart movement. The post concerns Fatima Payman. It should not matter at this point what side of political spectrum you are leaning to - what should matter is how Senator Payman is being treated online and how you react to it - because it speaks to your views on the larger issues of misogyny, racism and hate that have festered in our online communities and have been pushed by the media, public figures and particular politicians towards women. Senator Payman is expecting a baby and has been posting about the stages of her pregnancy online. She is understandably and naturally excited about the arrival of her child - as most women would be - and wanted to share her news online. Her posts have been inundated with “racist and sexist hate commentary - mainly from white men”. The world we live in continues to enable these disgusting tirades from malignant and grown-ass puerile men - but you can attract two years’ jail for mentioning something about rivers and seas publicly and online. This world not only enables hate and racism, it enables and desensitises hate and violence towards women. It allows pathetic individuals like these men to thrive online and in our communities and ALWAYS, ALWAYS exacerbates violence towards women. This is absolutely not okay. We should be speaking out against all forms of violence and disrespect against women. The abuse aimed at Senator Payman offers us a chance to take a good look at ourselves and do just that. Toxic masculinity is allowed to thrive online unabated. How would you feel if this was your daughter, wife, sister, mother, another female relative or a friend treated in this way? Would you speak out even if this was a stranger and you knew it was wrong? This IS hate speech. Why is it not treated as such? This is setting a dangerous precedent. Acceptance of abuse of women is enabling violence.

Murdoch-led mainstream media is largely responsible for the current stress and fear that people feel with regard to their circumstances in this country. By comparison, countries that are not influenced as much by Murdoch-related content - and experience less RW media influence are less likely to be negatively affected despite the fact that their living standards may not be as good as they are here. The media in Australia is toxic. They are deliberately so. Their narratives of crisis and fear are strategic for RW political purposes- who they support because it is more beneficial for them to do so. Stop believing their bullshyte. independentaustralia.net/bus…

Checking out the list of One Nation dodgy candidates and MPs on Google offers up all kinds of interesting information about the types of predilections that are attracted into the batcave of a notoriously batsh*t cray cray populist party. The following exemplifies the types of people that One Nation has the ability to attract. I’m not sure why but I expect that anyone with a pulse and burning desire to express their malignant opinions openly feels they might have a chance at a minimum of $200k pa for minimum effort and a guaranteed minimum of 3 or 4 years in the House or 6 to 8 years in the upper House. Nice taxpayer-trough roll if you can pull it off. -One Nation’s Farrer candidate, David Farley, has been accused of sharing derogatory posts of women online. As we know Farley has quite a derogatory opinion of women from his past commentary of Julia Gillard - and it doesn’t surprise anyone, except for Hanson who doesn’t seem to give a fck about Misogynists-R-Us inhabiting the hallways of One Nation central. -Then there was Aoi (Trent) Baxter, SA Candidate who was dumped after he was found to allegedly have a UK arrest warrant after he was charged in 2023 for touching a woman without consent. -Bruce Peece, SA candidate for Schubert, has been accused of domestic abuse, including a charge of breaching an intervention order. -Tyler Green, former SA candidate for Mawson, has made more than a dozen antisemitic, racist and homophobic posts on social media over a 6-year period, some allegedly quite unhinged. -Let’s not forget Sean black, a convicted rapist who One Nation hired in 2025 as a campaign director. This is not the first time that One Nation has employed this individual. -Gerald Nicol, candidate for Eden Monaro, was disendorsed by One Nation because of his controversial and derogatory social media posts about women. Adrian Deeth, One Nation federal candidate for Hasluck WA was convicted in 2021 of 15 breaches of a family violence restraining order brought by his ex-partner. Deeth pleaded guilty to all 15 offences. - Mark Ellis, One Nation candidate in Macalister, QLD in 2017, resigned from the party after allegations that he threatened to k*ll an employee in his security firm. It is also alleged that Ellis was photographed performing a Nazee salute before a large swastiker mown into his lawn. For those who remember the name “Mark Ellis” in QLD - there is a good reason for that. Look it up. -Brian Burston, former One Nation Senator, alleged serial predator. -Let’s not forget Mark Latham, former One Nation NSW MP, alleged abuser and defamer of Alex Greenwich MP. Say no more. Add in Barnaby Joyce and Cory Bernadi - and you have a series of One-Nation associated misogynistic patterns that keep popping up in Pauline Hanson’s slipstream and are continually enabled by her toxic populist rhetoric. I’m sure there are plenty more examples. I’m also sure that there will be much more of this enabled brotherhood of the disaffected bros in the future. How long they last with One Nation is anyone’s guess.
