The median voter is like a goldfish, but people forget that almost every single candidate except Biden supported Medicare for All at the beginning of the 2020 Democratic primaries. One by one they all ended up abandoning it, everyone except Bernie, because no one could keep claiming to support it whilst also claiming that it would be funding without raising taxes on the middle class. Certain Democrats might lose their minds over this, but we must recognize that people earning over $500,000 a year are wealthy. People earning over $200,000 a year are wealthy. If we want to have normal-rich-country social policies (e.g., low-cost or free child care, universal health care), we need these people to pay a little extra. The middle-class probably need to contribute a little more as well, but they will definitely come out ahead when the improved health system and public services are accounted for.

Saw a post about "sex workers" (prositututes) and it got me thinking about how liberals have the least human solution of all. Normalising it normalises, ignores abuse and trauma. What I'd do is decriminalise it and offer workers a route out of the industry. Also, ban porn.

They're not noticing you have great posture, you can't firm handshake your way through interviews anymore. They're just not hiring you at all. There is around 1.7 million people unemployed right now and an estimated 690k jobs.
