.@BetoORourke has a record of supporting the policies our disabled children need to survive and thrive. Happy to see him continue working for the good people of Texas!
I’m running for governor. Together, we can push past the small and divisive politics that we see in Texas today — and get back to the big, bold vision that used to define Texas. A Texas big enough for all of us. Join us: bit.ly/30mq3KP

[Airline ableism] "Flying while disabled could result in loss of life or limb. Fly at your own risk." This shouldn't be the inferred regulatory approach, but here we are.

Wheelchairs aren't just tools. They're a part of us. When they get damaged or completely destroyed. It causes us direct damage. It like crushing our legs and without proper care. It can hurt us and even kill us. So it's really messed up that airlines are allowed to destroy them.

Millions of Americans rely on home & community-based services to receive the services they need to live in their own homes and communities. This is a once-in-a-generation chance to make needed investments in home care & the caregivers who provide it.

I’m grateful that @POTUS could join me & several PA recipients of home & community-based services & workers who provide them in Scranton yesterday. Since the President proposed a historic investment in these services, I’ve traveled across the PA, listening to stories like theirs.

Home & community-based services keep seniors & people with disabilities like Brandon living independently in their homes. It was an honor to be in Scranton yesterday with @POTUS to hear the personal stories of what these critical services mean to Pennsylvanians. #CareCantWait
I’m fighting every day to pass my Build Back Better Agenda for folks like Brandon. His story is like so many I’ve heard across the country. Folks are just looking for a fighting chance and to be treated with the dignity they deserve – and that’s what my agenda is all about.

Storytelling. Art. Activism. A new set of @domesticworkers murals in Georgia combines all three by celebrating Dorothy Bolden, the mother of the domestic worker movement and highlighting the essential nature of care work today. #ThankYouDomesticWorkers domesticworkers.org/programs…

What happened to Clifford Owensby is wrong. The police violence experienced by Mr. Owensby is a part of a long-term pattern of abuse experienced by disabled people, who make up 50% of those killed by law enforcement.

Black people with disabilities are treated even more severely, with their risk of arrest being twice as much as white disabled people. Racism and ableism are intertwined and reinforce one another.

Texas House passed extreme gerrymandered GOP state House map at 3:30 am last night. Democracy quite literally dying in dark Whites 40% population but control 59% districts Hispanics 39% of population but control 20% districts Blacks 12% of population but control 2.7% districts

#AHCANCAL21 'Diversity' and 'inclusion' IS NOT segregating disabled people in substandard warehouses and drugging them in order to maintain dangerous understaffing levels so that your corporations can profit. nytimes.com/2021/09/11/healt…
