One of the consequences of the ANC's failures is that it paints all Black people in a bad light.
Here me well... ALL BLACK PEOPLE.
No matter how uppity, educated, well-travelled, accomplished & rich you are... anytime a random White person sees you, they see the ANC.
They see corruption, incompetence, arrogance, entitlement, laziness, lack of accountability.
You are an ANC loser in their eyes until proven otherwise. Even if you're in the same neighbourhoods, they assume you got there through BEE & stealing money.
This isn't even about White people - coz their opinion of us shouldn't matter...
It's also about how hardworking, talented, sacrificing, innovative Black people are pained seeing their race in that same light... and they then endeavour to move far away from their people, including their own family members.
The ANC has really ruined the image of Black South Africans. And by ANC, I include the EFF & MKP.
Julius Malema was a leader in that same ANC. Jacob Zuma was a leader in that same ANC. They are complicit in the image of Black South Africans to the world.
Some of us need to work harder to shift the image... and elevate the right Black people. And we have many.

i worked at the Spur from standard 8, 3 5 hour shifts a week during term time and 5 on holidays.
i had so much money my mum used to lend some off me. i also learnt team work and to respect the staff who made the food - a good relationship with your griller or cold station saved your bacon when your forgot to put orders through.
we also learnt to share our tips with the team who helped us earn them.
i learned so much about the working environment there it set me up for corporate jobs post graduation.
not to take things too seriously and to respect the people who actually do the work.
it's a shame that's now gone. it was never just about the money. it was about cultivating work cultures and being responsible.

Illegal foreigners are not only flooding South Africa because it is easy for them to get in. They do it because once they are in their lives are comfortable, they are able to get jobs and start businesses (including illegal ones), access health care and education for their children and return to their home countries to visit as they please, all without consequence.
If you take away some of the things that make living in South Africa illegally so lucrative, like their ability to run businesses in communities while being in the country illegally, then you take away an incentive for them to flood this country in their numbers.
Logical people know that a lot can be done at municipal level to discourage illegal foreigners from flooding our country in large quantities!
Border control and immigration policy are National Government responsibilities.
A municipality and/or Ward Councillor does not have any power to control our borders nor order deportations.
The people of South Africa will soon discover that political parties which campaigned on those promises in the Local Government Elections promised powers that municipalities do not possess.
All these dishonest parties simply played with the emotions and vulnerabilities of our people.
Voting is done now. The question you must ask the party you voted for is; will they close the border? The answer is NO!

The fairytale of "Black unity" built around cooperation, economic development and working together? Absolutely, there's nothing wrong with that.
But black unity built on the idea of fighting, excluding or opposing white South Africans? That's a dangerous political experiment that will only deepen divisions and risk pushing the country towards ANARCHY....
