Here's one of the works of art by Colombian artist, Antonio Caro, reportedly removed last week from the @museonacionalco in Bogotá by the de la Espriella govt. The piece is a critique of the abuses of mining in the country - one of the deadliests for environmental defenders.

Brilliant illustration here of the creeping rise of SUVs, child-killing planet-choking monstrosities which are completely unnecessary but pander to some people’s sad inadequacy. If tempted to buy one, try therapy instead, it will be cheaper for you and safer for the rest of us.
𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 [𝑛𝑜𝑢𝑛]: the alarming growth of private cars in height, width, length and weight at the expense of public space, the environment and overall safety.

The idea that you can separate the climate crisis from the cost of living is absurd. Climate action isn’t a luxury. It’s about protecting people, their homes and their livelihoods. We can't afford to delay. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

Well said @CarolineLucas! A new data point for the PM to consider: Heatwave 999 call-outs higher than in pandemic bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn8n…
Is that it? If this is all that’s come from COBR, it’s pitifully inadequate. As crisis deepens, it beggars belief that there aren’t plans to increase resources for the fire service, max workplace temperature, community cool spaces & ban on new fossil fuels independent.co.uk/news/uk/ho…

There’s nothing “pragmatic” about drilling for more North Sea oil & gas. The planet is already on fire. How many times do we have to say it will do nothing for energy bills or energy security - but would send a terrible message to the rest of the world? theguardian.com/environment/…

As hosepipe bans are issued across the country, my reporting today reveals that data centres are estimated to be using 6.6 million litres of drinking water every single day! Water UK said this is a “genuine failing of government”. theguardian.com/environment/…

Elon Musk’s cuts to U.S.A.I.D. led to some 700,000 deaths, according to Atul Gawande, a former leading administrator at the agency. Gawande, backed by recent academic studies, believes that the death toll will likely reach seven figures. The policy is not only immeasurably cruel, he argues; it is also stupid, badly undermining what remains of American soft power and prestige.
