🚨HOW SHOULD KRATOM BE REGULATED TO PROTECT CHILDREN?: Executive Director of @HART7OH offers a middle ground approach that keeps 7-OH INACCESSIBLE to children, but available for adults to use as a pain alleviator
@JeffSmithMO: "On one side there's people who want to ban the whole thing, [...] on the other side, there's people that want the wild West. [...] We're smack-dab in the middle. [...] We went too far in this country when we gave out prescription opioids like they were Chiclets, but now the pendulum has swung to the other extreme!"

Government Needs to Think Before It Acts
The government’s first instinct when something scares people is to rush out bad policy before it’s checked the facts.

When it comes to the War on Drugs, America is again trying to prove the defn of insanity: doing the same thing over & over and expecting different results.

Emergency scheduling is reserved for emergencies. It was never intended to become the default mechanism for resolving complicated scientific and regulatory debates.

The Drug Enforcement Administration’s arbitrary 7-OH ban is not rooted in science
In banning certain kratom-derived substances, the Drug Enforcement Administration ignores science.

Across the U.S., 7-OH consumers are sharing their concerns that bans will hurt the people who take small amounts for harm reduction, pain management, and anxiety. They're calling for regulation, not bans. Watch now and listen to their stories

Adults should not be abandoned to withdrawal, untreated pain, lost work, & illicit drug markets bc one part of the kratom industry decided that protecting its own products mattered more than protecting the consumers it claims to represent @realDonaldTrump

Public policy should be guided by transparent science and evidence, not assumptions, and we encourage consumers to participate in the comment period by sharing their experiences with the Administration.

A growing number of people are asking an important question: Is the campaign against 7-OH really about public health or about protecting market share?
Consumers deserve facts, transparency, and science based regulation, not fear campaigns. @WashTimes

7-OH has not been identified in a single cause of death absent the presence of another drug.
7-OH has meaningfully helped tens of thousands of people get off opioids.
President Trump supports 7-OH.
WTF are you doing, AG?
Today, I signed an emergency rule because dangerous, concentrated 7-OH products present an imminent hazard to the public safety of Floridians—especially our children and teens.
By expanding the rule to include new 7-OH related compounds to Schedule I, we are removing these addictive poisons from store shelves, protecting families, and holding manufacturers and sellers accountable.

7-OH alkaloid products were not available commercially until late 2023.
This is a false statement: "Since 2013, medical examiners in the state have linked at least 587 overdose deaths to 7OH and related chemical compound drugs."
1) 7-OH products weren't available.
2) No single substance 7-OH deaths in the country.
Once again, the Florida AG is lying.
