On Friday, 23rd October, I had a conversation with Nafisa, Ibrahim and Emmanuel in our office classroom. Just the four of us, wallahi. Little did I know it would be the last conversation I’d ever have with them. We were talking about work when I said, “I honestly don’t think I can keep up with this kind of job forever. I like having time for myself.” They all laughed and said, “That’s why you work here.” Then I asked them, “What would you do if you woke up with ₦1 billion today?” I told them I’d retire, take care of my family and friends, and go to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage. Nafisa said she’d retire too, travel the world, and take care of her family and friends. Emmanuel said he’d invest, get married, and keep working because he wanted more out of life. Ibrahim tried convincing him that ₦1 billion was more than enough to invest and still retire. We laughed. We talked about life, money, dreams and the future. Just an ordinary conversation among colleagues who had no idea what was waiting for them. On Saturday, Nafisa messaged me on WhatsApp. She wanted to send Emmanuel and Ibrahim to my house so we could shoot a video for the YAI programme they were running. I told her I’d be at the market until evening and asked if they could come later. Unfortunately, they couldn’t make it. On Sunday, Emmanuel texted me that they would be at the office on Monday by 4 p.m. so we could shoot the video. Monday morning, I woke up, picked out one of my nice outfits for the video, went to work and waited. Then, around 2 p.m., I received a call from Halima. She told me she had heard that Nafisa and three other people she was travelling with had been involved in an accident. From what she had heard, none of them survived. She asked if I knew anyone at the General Hospital who could help confirm the news. That was how I found out. At work. On an ordinary Monday. The people I expected to see in a few hours were gone. The same people I had laughed with just three days earlier. The same people I had made plans with. The same people who were talking about what they would do with their lives if they had ₦1 billion. We had plans for Monday. We had a video to shoot. We had lives we expected to continue living. And then, suddenly, there was no Monday with them. Life is so fragile. We spend so much time planning for the future, chasing money, building careers and dreaming about the things we want to do someday. Yet, none of us knows how much time we have left. May Allah forgive Nafisa, Ibrahim, Emmanuel and everyone who lost their lives in that accident. May He grant them Al-Jannatul Firdaus, comfort their families and give everyone they left behind the strength to bear this painful loss. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Please, hold your loved ones a little closer. Be kind to people. Make time for the things that matter. And never take an ordinary day, an ordinary conversation or the promise of tomorrow for granted.

Way to go! ✅ Digital diagnostics for our hospitals in Niger State will without doubt boost accuracy, cut delays, and provide better outcomes in healthcare for our communities. This here is unprecedented and really commendable, HCH Sir. #NigerWillTHRIVE
Today, we signed a landmark MoU between the Niger State Ministry of Health and a consortium of Erba Diagnostics(@, Bloom Public Health(@bloompubhealth) and Sydani Group(@SydaniGroup) under the Niger State Laboratory Optimization Project (NSLOP). Under the leadership of His Excellency, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago(@HonBago), this partnership reinforces our commitment to a health system where every diagnosis is accurate, timely and accessible — from our General Hospitals in Minna and Bida down to selected Primary Healthcare Centres. The MoU covers the provision and installation of laboratory equipment, improved access to diagnostic reagents, technical support and capacity building for our health personnel. Stronger labs mean earlier disease detection, smarter clinical decisions and better patient outcomes. My gratitude to our Director of Medical and Laboratory Services, Abdullahi Habib Etsu-Agaie, our Permanent Secretary, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Iman(@abdullahi_imam), and the entire Ministry team for driving this vision. To our partners — led by Professor Chimezie Anyakora(@drchimezie) — we value your commitment and look forward to tangible results. An effective healthcare system rests on accurate diagnosis, competent personnel and reliable supplies. This is a milestone in our health sector transformation, and we will keep building a stronger, more resilient and patient-centred system for the people of Niger State. #NigerWillTHRIVE

His Excellency sir, I'm the founder of cyber hijabi tech and we have an initiative called cyberteenz. We go to secondary schools to train them on cybersecurity. We need support to scale it so that we can reach more students and schools Thanks in anticipation.
When a game about life in Lagos can raise half a million dollars soon after launch, our young developers are telling us something: the next global entertainment industry can be built right here. I will support e-sports leagues and tournaments, offer incentives for gaming infrastructure, and back Nigerian game developers with grants, incubators, and export platforms. Our gamers are not wasting time; they are building an industry. - AA techcabal.com/2026/10/09/lag…

Research writing is a very important skill, whether you’re an undergraduate, a postgraduate, or a working professional who wants to conduct research in your workplace. You need to understand how to write research and stop stressing your supervisor. And please, don’t rely entirely on AI platforms. As good as they are, you still need to do the groundwork yourself. Recently, an undergraduate sent me their work to review. I was so glad to help, but after going through it, I don’t even know what to say. I just told them to start all over again because it was written all over the work that it was a copy-and-paste from ChatGPT. Please, learn how to write research. It is a very important skill, and you will need it more than you think. What is stopping you from learning how to write a good research article?

Special Tribute to a Friend I Met On Twitter @ibrahim_bayero You were never quiet to my tweets. While the rest of the timeline scrolled past, you stopped, replied and occasionally bolstered us to do more, especially on our humanitarian quests. I met you first as a username and an avatar on here, and over time the distance collapsed: we recognized our voices in the way we phrased things, the topics we returned to, the way we checked in on each other under our tweets. The timeline is quieter now. Your replies all scattered in several of my posts. They remain there as a reminder to me and all others; to send our prayers forth and to be ready for the same fate, today or tomorrow. Continue to rest in the peaceful ambiance of AlJannatul firdaus, brother! 🤲🏿
